I just finished a nine hole round where I started 10 over through four and finished two over through the last five.. Out of no where the drive were going straight and far and just changed the game completely.. What is the biggest up and down round of golf you've played?

recently I had a similar round. The front 9 was atrocious... I appeared to be well on my way to a +100 round. Then my playing partner watched me hit a good drive and commented on the difference in my tempo. Something about him pointing that out stuck with me and I finished really strong. I went par, par, birdie, par, par at one stretch and finished the round at my typical 92- 95

Made 7 birdies once and shot even par. Another round I started with an 10 (par 5) and shot 79 on a tough course (Spyglass).

This happens a lot to me. Just today, played a 9 hole par-3 course. Shot 13 over on the first 9 (9 over on first 3), 5 over playing the same 9 again... I like to blame it on 'not being warmed up'...yet in the end it just means I'm still very inconsistent.

Years ago at Mountain View golf course in central NJ, I had a round where I chipped/putted in from off the green 5 times. Three times for birdie, but had several double bogeys as well. Really worked out to a decent score, but it was all over the place. I pulled out some great recovery shots, but also hit some real stinkers. It was a ride like few rounds I've had since Lot of fun, I recall playing with some cool guys and we had a lot of fun.

I had it happen in tryouts where I was -1 through the front nine, in the lead beating the player who won conference last year, then went +4 on the back nine due to some stupid shots to finish at +3 to his -2. I've also had it happen where I shot a five over on the front and two under on the back to end up with the same score. Just depends on my approach shots and how close they end up to the pin.

My round today was truly up and down. Shot 59 on the first nine and 39 on the second nine. I was really proud that I kept my composure while recording a 10 on a par 4 and a 15 on a par 5 the first nine. Funny thing is the money ended up even at the end of the day.

I'm sure I've had many rounds with a 10 shot or more difference between 9's. First time I shot 70 was a 30 front and 40 back. five birdies an eagle and I still was only -1 for the day.

I recall shooting 45-35, 4?-34.....2 or 3 birdies in a nine really help the score!

My most extreme round came on a 36-36=par 72 course.

This was almost 15 years ago when I caught a terrible case of the shanks on the front, but played great on the back.......... 50-35....a 15 stroke differential between Nines!!   LOL....I have yet to card another 50 since that day.  thank heavens!  This was circa 2000 when I was about a 8-9hc.

2 years ago when I was shooting 50 maybe, I went bogey, triple, triple, then played 1 under other than a drive that I bombed and it hit a sprinkler head and went in the water. And a year ago I shot +10 on the front then -1 on the back with a double, in a tournament

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
