Can someone tell me why NFL players wear all the padding? What a bunch of wimps.

Ever seen the hits in Aussie Rules or Rugby League?

Your padded sissies wouldn't last 10 seconds.

I agree, plus I think they only have to last about 4.94 seconds(660 seconds of actual plays / 133.6 plays on avg) per play in the NFL, WITH PADS ON! Friggin' sissies!

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out.
When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game.

Like I suspected ... sounds an awful lot like baseball.

P.S.  On second thought, I'm not so sure that you're talking about cricket because nowhere in that explanation did you mention tea!:-P

Hockey rocks ... but we're not talking 'bout hockey here, we're talking about football.  And your team is called the "Alouettes."

It's hard to argue with @Shorty 's "padded sissy" moniker when the definition your teams mascot is "a French childrens song for group singing."  (Insert emoticon of a guy laughing so hard that milk is coming out of his nose here)

We were gonna go with the Mighty Ducks but it was too far ahead of it's times. In any case, I'll stay on topic here: North American football sucks regardless of the number of downs. Yeah, that's right, I said it!
Booyah!

One of these guys clearly cares more about retaining possession of the ball than the other.

Um.  No.  I played rugby for a number of years.  I love rugby.  But the hits in the NFL are an order of magnitude harder because of the pads.  BUT, I love the bashing.  Keep it up.  This is what this thread is for!

What's up with that pseudo-basketball game the ladies play in Australia anyway?  What, they aren't coordinated enough to dribble in OZ?

That's why they all destroy their knees and ankles.

Guys play netball too :-)

Yeahyeah I know...they women's duets could beat the Browns.

Yet oddly, when you put synchronized swimmers on a soft mat and call it rhythmic gymnastics, it is absolutely awesome.
