Ok, so here are the current standings (as of 8/21/14)
AL East (although at this point it's the Oriole's which hurts me since I'm a Yankees fan)
BAL: 73-52

TOR: 65-62 -  9 GB

NYY: 63-31 -  9.5 GB

(Tampa is 12.5 GB, but it's too big a gap for them to come back)

AL Central:

KC 70-56

DET: 68-56 - 1 GB

CLE: 64-61 - 5.5 GB

AL West:

LAA: 75-50

OAK: 74-52 - 1.5 GB

SEA: 68-58 - 57.5

AL Wildcard:

Oakland: 74-52

Detroit: 68-56

Seattle: 68-58 - 1 GB

Cleveland: 64-61 - 4.5 GB

Toronto : 65-62 - 4.5 GB
Yankees: 63-61 - 5 GB

National League East:

Nats: 72-53

Atlanta: 66-61 - 7 GB

Miami: 63-63 - 9.5 GB

NL Central:

Milwaukee: 71-56

St. Louis: 69-57 - 1.5 GB

Pittsburgh: 65-62 - 6 GB

NL West:

Dodgers: 71-57

San Francisco: 66-58 - 3 GB

NL Wildcard:

St. Louis: 69-57

San Francisco: 66-58

Atlanta: 66-61 - 1.5 GB

Pittsburgh: 65-52 - 2.5 GB

Miami: 63-63 - 4 GB

Ok, so after all that, here's who I have winning what:

AL East: Baltimore  -- Lock

AL Central: Detroit -- KC cools down, still gets the WC

AL West: Oakland -- More pitching depth

AL Wildcard: Angles and KC (Rooting for the Yankees but it's not happening this year

NL East: Nationals

NL Central: Milwaukee

NL West: Dodgers

NL Wildcard: St. Louis, Pittsburgh

Ok, those are my picks.. Yours?

Dude, me too. The Cardinals have been playing rough but we can scrape in!

So my pre-season picks included the Rangers and Rays so this means nothing haha

ALE - O's

ALC - Tigers

ALW - A's...I love Oakland, but would be picking Anaheim if Richards didn't JUST get hurt

WC - Angels and Royals

NLE - Nats

NLC - Cardinals

NLW - Dodgers

WC - Brewers and Pirates

So not much different from anyone else. These teams just seem to be destined for October

Well, now that the playoffs are here, who else is excited???  I have no real investment this year (or last year, or the year before that ,or the year before that, or basically every year since 2006) so it's nice and stress free.  I get to root for good games and long series'.

I would lean towards seeing the west coast teams (and specifically the Socal teams) advance as far as possible, and this year of all years seems like the best bet for a freeway series, but anything can happen.

Here's my guesses (no research whatsoever, just hunches and hopes):

Angels over the A's in 5

Orioles over the Tigers in 4

Nationals over the Pirates in 5

Dodgers over the Cardinals in 4

Angels over the Orioles in 7

Dodgers over the Nationals in 6

Dodgers over the Angels in 6

Greinke wins the NLCS MVP award and Kershaw wins the WS MVP award.  Kershaw goes 6-0 in the playoffs (winning games 1 and 4 of the DS, games 2 and 6 of the CS, and games 2 and 6 of the WS) and Greinke goes 5-0 (winning game 2 of the DS, and games 1 and 5 of both the CS and WS)

How wrong am I????

At this point I am hoping for another I70 Series ( with different umpires than the last time it happened ). ;-)

I don't think either team is good enough but you never know and it doesn't hurt to hope.
