But I'm playing golf... Edit: And we have an obnoxious group behind us, yelling ensues.

I thought there weren't any carts at Bethpage?

I believe that's just the black course.

And I think he's nicknaming it 'backup Bethpage' because it takes forever to get a round in.

It's in the middle of suburbia, for what it's worth.

There was some serious yelling. Not me but two guys were coming to blows. Guy in fivesome behind us complaining we were slow but as you can see in photo, two groups are waiting on the par 3 ahead of us. We couldn't go anywhere. Idiot. I'm really good at dialing these guys out. Hit my drive and the fairway while they were having a frank and serious discussion. Felt bad for the guys in my group. It ruined their round. Anyways I complain about slow play but I accept it's a fact of life. I'm not gonna transfer that negative energy to the group ahead of me. I'll do that here. :-). By posting a photo. :-)

I think some people just take the issue of slow play too seriously.. I can't imagine what would drive some idiot to come to or almost come to blows about it! I'll chalk it up to stupidity! I'm glad it didn't ruin your round though!

Played 36 at Bethpage with the team yesterday. Our 7am round wasn't awful but we went back out around 1:30 on the blue and I was coming up 18 in the dark.....

Yellow. Only playing 9.

People get grumpy at Bethpage, though usually more so on the red course because those are the guys that didn't get up early enough to get a tee time on black and got stuck playing red (which is a pretty tough course too).

The guy is making cultural generalizations when he lives in Florida.

But I was born and raised in New York. Bethpage is on the Island, but played by the city dwellers.

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
