Apparently my dreams have come true and I got picked to do some Titleist R&D;! Anyone else get a sleeve of balls?

I did just recently. I don't know if it was from an email or at the website though.

I have one from 3-4 years ago. It's a cool feeling. Just had to write a review of the test balls. I kept one for my wall rack

If it were me they'd already be hooked into the woods by now. Thanks Titleist!

I used them in safe holes tonight. They play like prov's, not sure which ones yet. Have pretty good distance and reasonable feel. I will have to see how it goes.

awesome! always good to get stuff like that in the mail!

on a side note: (not trying to detract from your good fortune)

I always wanted to be a tester, been a Pro V1x snob since I can remember... then one day a friend and I blacked out 5 balls. He wrote down which balls were what and I proceeded to hit drivers, 6 irons, wedges, and flops with each of them.

I got 2 right out of those shots and they were with the full wedges.

Moral of my story..... I am not good enough to be a snob about my golf balls.

Now I play whatever is given to me through work.

I got some to test a couple of years ago.  I couldn't tell a damn bit of difference between the test ball and my normal ball.

Wonder what it is. The arrow markers are what they use on the Velocity. Maybe a new replacement for the Velocity coming soon? Honestly I can't really tell them apart either so whatever it is I won't be buying it recently started playing whatever HVC's I can find for $9.99 and been shooting the best scores in two years with those so I am sticking with the cheapies.

The arrow markers are what they use on the Velocity.

Light gray arrows are used on the Pro V1, Pro V1x and NXT, also.  Or at least the "like new" balls I occasionally find have similar markings.

When you sign up, they ask you what ball you currently play. The ball I received struck me as the same as the ProV's that I play. I'm guessing that they match the new to the old, in order to see if there are real world improvements.....but who knows.

So far they play similarly to a prov. They be a little firmer feeling. I think they sort of look like prov1x's.

Do you mean they physically look different or that's how they play?

I received mine in the mail yesterday - have a 4:15 tee time today to test/lose them

I think my full report to Titleist will include how they react to shanks, skulls, trees, and sand.

note: I will be keeping 1 just to display

How they physically look. The play is similar to both but I have not decided yet which one is the closest.

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
