Ping Irons Comparable to i3 Plus

Ive got Ping i3 plus irons right now. Black dot everything is standard. Im going to be playing some tournaments later on this year and pretty much all of next year.

I know that the i3 irons are non conforming so my question is which Ping iron set that is conforming would be most comparable to my current i3's? For whatever reason I love these clubs and the way they feel. If I could some how get my set refaced and remilled and grooved to conforming grooves I would that's how much I like these irons.

Before some of you folks knock me because my profile says im a 9 handicap rest assured I wouldn't be playing in these tournaments if I were a 9. That's just the number I clicked when I registered. That number means absolutely nothing to me.

So all of that aside, What are my options?

G15's are a nice option. They are easy to hit and could be purchased for a decent price since they are 3 models old. G30's are also nice but are going to cost quite a bit more. Honestly any G series is going to be decent. If you don't like the chunky look of the G series take a look at the I series. They are smaller with less off set but also easy to hit(just not quite as easy as the G's).

Do you use the blades or O-size?

I have the i3 "plus" it has + behind the i3.

My dad has the g10's I believe and nice hit them a few times on occasion and seem to hit them pretty good.

I like the look of the I series better as they aren't as big but I want something that works for me too.

I'm currently looking at the i20

At a 9 HDCP, you might want something in the i-series.

In February, I got to test out the i25 and the G25. Both were shafted in CFS R.flex shafts, so it was an excellent comparison.

I would hit the i25 OK.... but I got about 12 more yards out of the G25.

Being you have a 9 HDCP, and probably pretty good clubhead speed, definitely check out the i-series models. As always, the clubhead will work best if you match it with a shaft that fits your swing.

Did you like the CFS shafts? I've heard mixed reviews on them.

I really like the smaller slimline look of the I series but I want something that works. I don't too much care what they look like

Yes I get that but there are two versions of the i3+ irons, Blade and O-Size.

If you like the i3+ irons (either model) you'll probably like the i20's, here's my review

Been using the CFS shafts for a couple years now, really like them, they are a little lighter than a DG S300 and feel "softer".

Mine are the ones on the left. I thought the o-sized were orange and said o-sized on them.

Regardless, I think these could possibly be the best irons I've ever hit. ( obviously that's my opinion. Yours may vary) I don't know what it is about them but I can just about make the ball do whatever I want it to.

I've never hit the i20. I've looked at them several times thought and I like the way they look. I just need to find some with the CFS shafts to try out and see how I like them. Based on your review and what you've said about them I think I'll like them just fine.

You can probably find some i20's on ebay for a good price. That way if you aren't happy with the shafts you could get them reshafted.

I haven't checked eBay. I'm kinda Leary of buying from eBay....my poor mans firefighter salary can't afford to buy a counterfeit set or anything haha.

But seriously I'll check out eBay and see what I can find. I've also been looking at global golf I believe is the name of it.

Anybody have any experience with those folks?

Ditto. Bought a couple of clubs from them. Would recommend them for sure.
