my club offered a free junior lesson to anyone who turned up, so I took him down and we were the only ones there! I was surprised nobody else took this offer! He got an hours free coaching with a PGA pro, who then told me he was welcome to stay for another hour and join the group of juniors who get coached weekly! He really enjoyed the coaching and has asked to join the 8 week programme they have for junior beginners, (junior passport to golf) it's endorsed by the PGA. and it seems like a well structured coaching system for children, just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of it?

Pretty cool. Good on ya for taking your Son to get a lesson, and good on your Son for taking advantage of them..Hope he does well.

Yes, I'm trying to lay foundations for us to spend some quality time together as we grow older! I was going to wait till next summer but this opportunity was thrust upon us and he took it, I think 10 years of age is a good age to begin!

Fantastic! My kids a little younger (8 and 6) but I take them to the local First Tee course and let them just beat the ball around. Only guidance so far is aim the body and club and right hand on the bottom.
