Been using the multi-compound grips for awhile on my irons and I've really liked them. I'll be re-gripping my hybrid soon and was wondering if anyone has experience with the white multi-compounds getting dirty/dingy looking. And feel free to share your favorite grips or another I should check out. I'm open to something with just a little less grip or a little more feel. Thanks

I use the whites.......I think this is my 3d or 4th set now.   I change them every year, after about 100 rounds or so, and don't have an issue with them being dingy.

I just wipe 'em down periodically with my nasty, dirty, wet golf towel.....nothing more.

In David's bag....

I've messed with some others but always liked the Golf Pride multi-compounds the most overall.  I had this version on my irons and driver for probably two years before they started looking dirty (probably 75-80 rounds), but they were definitely in need of replacement.

Recently put these on.  A little color without being gaudy.

I have the plain black and white multicompounds (black on top, white on bottom) and I don't have issues with my grips looking bad. I do replace my grips somewhat frequently though (I'm on my second set this year), but I play frequently to match. I just replace them when the rubber on the bottom hand starts to wear after 50-ish rounds or so, mostly because by that point in the year I'm gearing up for the big tournament season in the fall and want to make sure my clubs are in top shape.

I have teammates who use the platinum multicompounds and they report no problems with dirty looking grips either. I think the fact that  the grips aren't pure white (they have some black in the white portion) helps a lot.

I took a few few pictures of my white GP NDMC grips since this thread made me curious. They're 2 or 2.5 years old, but I probably haven't played as much as the guys above. First one is my 4-iron. Not much wear. Now the 6-iron. I use it the most when practicing. The white spot in the center isn't glare, it's wear from where my right index finger goes. No real discoloration though.

Sorry to steal this thread, but I have a question about the multi-compound grips.

When I was looking at new grips the guy at the pga superstore swore by the "black on top" multi-compounds but said that they "grey on top" were not as good and got slipper when wet.

Has anyone else experienced this?

They're exactly the same product with different paintjobs, don't believe him. I've hit both (the platinum with green on the bottom and the black and white) and I couldn't feel any difference at all. I just like the black and white better because I didn't like the yellow writing on the platinum with green.

I've historically not been a fan of corded grips - never liked them for whatever reason. Stuck with the tour wrap or tour velvet for years until last year when I bought a set of used irons from a friend who had just re gripped them in the New Decade Multi-Compound. Surprisingly I loved them - great feel overall and more comfortable than I've experienced with the legacy corded grips. I've have the white grips on my driver and fairway woods for about a year and they're not dingy at all - like @David in FL, I wipe them down at the end of each round or so. Will be regrip ping at the end of this season - may look at the Winn DryTac as a buddy just did his and likes them. A totally different feel (much softer) so I may swing his clubs a bit to test out. I'll have to LOVE them though to make the switch from the NDMC.

Thanks for the input, and that is what I figured. I will probably be going with platinum cause I like the grey with the navy. I thought that guys info seems a bit silly.

I've had the red and white on my irons for 3 years and probably 100 rounds and a few thousand hours on the range. Still work fine and are white. On my other clubs I have switched to lampkin crossline full cord and more recently golfpride z something chord because I need the chord under my right hand. Sometimes full chord isn't enough!

I really like the multi-compounds with cords because I prefer not to wear a glove.  And in hot humid Houston summers, they may a big difference compared to some others.

I like how those feel -- a LOT.  Used to have them on my driver/3 wood/hybrid.  But I found them to wear much quicker than multi-compounds.  My grip pressure might be a little firm, but it's not like I'm squeezing the shite out of the club or anything.

I clean my NDMC with isopropyl alcohol.  It really removes the grim and brings the tack back to about new.  They dry quickly too.

I just started playing without a glove - the NDMCs were tearing the crap out of my gloves all year. They offer good grip and surprisingly not very slippery in the heat.
By the way I used to have a Winn drt-tac grip on my hybrid and I did not like it at all. It is much too soft and seemed to move around like a sponge under my hand.
That's my biggest concern really. When I first picked up his club I thought "wow that's comfortable" but after a minute wondered if it would be too spongy. I have a problem with my hands shifting at times - this may not be a good match. Will probably stick with the NDMCs - I need to mess with something that works.

FWIW, I had Winn lites on all my irons last year and they were very comfortable, nice feeling grips, BUT they wear out ridiculously fast. I wouldn't use them again. Just my 2 bits. I love Lamkin Crosslines but may go with NDMC (or maybe corded crosslines) next season for the extra traction.

I'm also a no-glove guy.

That is exactly how my relationship with the Winn grip was. They feel amazing whey you are holding the club, but too spongy when swinging IMO
