Does this person exist?

I'm looking for a comprehensive, game improvement coach---full swing, short game, mental and fitness.

I've taken some lessons and have asked the pros if they would put together a one year development plan including practice schedules, fitness, drills, lessons, tracking, playing lessons, equipment etc... Comprehensive.  They look at me like I have 2 heads.  It seems they just want to sell the lessons, make the $100, and move on to the next sheep.

I don't want to waste another year.  I can commit 15-20 hours a week and have the finances.

Anyone have a coach like this.  I'm thinking more in terms of monthly retainer with measurable, actionable goals and less about buy 7 lessons get the 8th free--who are you again, what were we working on again.

Any ideas?  What would fair to pay for this service (provided it exists)

Thanks for the input

You have a couple options, make a little trip to one of the instructors on this list

http://5sk.com/index.php/site/find

Chuck Evans or Stephan Kostelecky would be closest to you.

Or sign up for Evolvr online lessons. We have a bunch of Sand Trap members on there that have seen some great progress. The two online instructors are also 5SK instructors, Stephan and Brian McGrew.

They exist, but at the same time, variety can be important to a golf instructor too. They may not want to take someone on for 20 hours a week.

Now, I'm not sure you meant 20 hours of work WITH the instructor each week, or if some of that was your own practice, probably at his facility. Let's assume that you'll spend 10 hours a week WITH the instructor. If his normal rate is $100/hour, you can probably get a discount down to about $80/hour. So $800/week, or $3200 per month. If you actually meant twenty, you can double that and take another $400 off perhaps, so you're at $6k/month.

What instructors are nearby? If you're gonna spend 20 hours a week with them, or even 10, every ten minutes they're farther away from you is going to make it that much more difficult to want to go. So you're probably talking about a 30-minute radius? That's not going to give you many - or the best - choices.

I might suggest there are other, better ways to do this.

 1. Travel - even if it's once a week or every two weeks for three- or four-hour sessions - to visit a HIGH-QUALITY instructor. Occasionally add a playing lesson for a full day of work.
 2. Buy a really good video camera and learn how to use it.
 3. Stay in touch with the instructor during the week with the videos you shoot.

You'll spend less than $6k/month AND you'll likely get MORE out of it, believe it or not…

Beyond that, the two names Mike listed are great choices, and reasonably close. If you'd like I can share this thread with either of them.

To clarify a bit: I think I can commit 15-20 hours weekly to golf. I anticipate maybe 2 or so hours with a coach and the balance on my own. I could see a full day upfront--play round, range, short course-- just so coach could get full picture before developing plan of attack. Then touch base couple hours each week to monitor/ fine tune etc....give me some homework.... Run the program 3 months and recalibrate the master plan. 1 yr, 15-20 hours a week, access to short game practice area, bunker practice, unlimited par 3 course, unlimited pitch and putt (horrible greens), unlimited range (heated and covered)-- Mats and grass, 18 hole course member, two excellent putting greens, money for coaching, flexible work schedule, and supportive wife! I am highly disciplined and love the process of improving (practice) Just Need a coach and game plan. Should be able to do some damage to this 18.1 index. Right!?

What makes her one of the best?-Because she won some awards? So waht? Women cant teach. And before you think Im just being misogynistic, most teachers are terrible, so the 5% of women teachers out there are just normal. Golf instructors are bad. Really really really bad.-No method, no cause-and-effect. The majority just throw shit at the wall to see what sticks.-Total guessing game. Im talking about golf swing knowledge and stuff.-Im sure many are nice people and have a congenial point of view.-And maybe this is the first woman who is a good instructor too. But that is WHy I am asking what makes her one of the best. If it is just her list of awards that does not mean anything.
One of the best is just around the corner from you.
