Man Drives Pickup Truck on Golf Course

That is just wrong. That poor golf course!

The golf course had it coming. It was probably the reason for why she dumped him.

This happened to my course last summer.  It took the greens a very long time to recover.

A local course had vandals pour solvent or something like that on the several greens in 2012. Instead of re-sodding the tried to bring them back only to eventually have to tear a few up. The temp greens killed their traffic for a while. Not sure what drives people to tear up courses but they do.

I hope they lock the SOB up and the courses sue the crap out of him, not only for the physical damage, but lost revenues as well.

What's the connection between the girlfriend and the course?  I hope she is the owner, or had an affair with the superintendent or something, because otherwise, I don't get the thought process of the guy.

"I can't believe she dumped me. I'll show her ... I'll go randomly do donuts on the golf course down the street! She'll take me back for sure after that!! "

Gotta at least give him a little credit for knowing that proper etiquette is to avoid trampling near the hole.

He did give the hole some room. I wonder if the superintendent got to change and refine some of the contour of the green while they were laying sod, to make the course more interesting (adding a shelf in the middle could give more complexity to pin placements).

That happened at a local course a few years ago, but it was an ATV. The damage wasn't that bad, but I don't think they caught the individual(s) responsible.

Some dingus took his daddy's golf clubs and smashed the windows out of a bunch of cars a few years ago. Not sure how the clubs made out. My brother's windshield didn't make it.

What an arsehole. I assume golf courses have insurance to cover this type of thing, right?

Unfortunately, I also assume it doesn't cover the lost revenue while they repair it...

I think that is a little bit excessive.  I can't remember the exact quote but it reminds me of something that Denis Leary's character said at the end of The Thomas Crown Affair while basically telling Rene Russo that he really didn't care if they caught the thief or not.

Last week I was arresting a man who beat his wife and kids, so if some rich guy wants to steal a couple of swills of paint that are only really important to a few other rich people, then, yeah, I could really give a shit.

Not saying it's not bad, but in the grand scheme of things, he's killing some grass and not actually injuring other humans, so ...

I know for many courses in the area that are struggling to stay open and make payroll, an incident like this could be the straw that breaks the camel's back causing them to close their doors leaving many people unemployed. Just sayin.
