I've been Playing Golf for: 8 years

My current handicap index or average score is: 15.5

My typical ball flight is: High Draw

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Big Push or Snap Hook

Hey guys, a little history here. I have been a member here on the sand trap for a while but have not really posted much. I decided to change that and be more active on here. I just signed up with Evolvr and have had my first video lesson. This driver swing is from the same day I took my video for Evolvr so I am already making a few changes. I feel like I am standing too upright with the driver and need to work on getting more bent over. Let me know what you think.

Videos:

My only problem with golf is that I am usually standing too close to the ball............ after I hit it.

You are in good hands with the evolvr guys..

Take a look at the grip thread

it looks like the club is too much in your hands.

It would be really great if you could update us with the priority piece that they give you!

Good Luck!

Trevor's notes from Evolvr, I did his first one.

- Left hand grip, get it more in the fingers, less "monkey grip". Also check that heel pad of the right hand is "on top". Will send you a link to the grip thread.

- Head goes forward and the hips shift back on the backswing, we want to change that. So do some practice with an alignment stick against your head. Take note of how it feels to keep your head steady.
- Couple feels I recommend

- Right shoulder goes down and inward, "stretches" towards your left hip. Will feel a little more "flexed over" at the top of the backswing.
- On the backswing keep the right hip against that "stick". If the hips slide back, there is a good chance the head is going forward. It's ok to have the hips transfer slightly forward on the backswing, like the Summerhays example.

- All these pieces will help you shallow the shaft on the downswing so you can start swinging OUTward more effectively.

I probably should have added the feels that were given to me after my swing analysis. A few things that I have noticed so far.

- I spend 20 min in the mornings working on swing drills while keeping my head centered on a wall so it can not move and keep a stick on my hip to make sure it is staying more centered to slightly moving forward. It feels like on the downswing I am swinging more out than through.

- Looking back at my videos both of my heels were coming off the ground during the swing. By turning my shoulder down and in it seems to keep my feet more stable as well. When I work on small 50-60% swings at work with my birdie balls I can feel my swing path is more shallow.

- The grip is going to be my big challenge. It feels so uncomfortable right now. I am carrying around a 7 iron at work and just making this grip while swinging the club back and forth to try and make it feel better. I have hit a few shots that were just amazing but the majority are pretty high fades to push fades.

- One other note is that my right thumb used to have a slight pain after playing and now there is no pain. Im not sure what that is from but Ill take it as a bonus.

I will continue to post with updates. I may also put in a few pitch shots. I have made some changes based on the pitch/chip videos in here and experienced some of the best short game I have ever had this last round.

My only problem with golf is that I am usually standing too close to the ball............ after I hit it.
