My new driver seems too light - need suggestions

I've had 3 Cleveland drivers in the past (HiBore, Launcher 460 and Classic), and all 3 of them felt excessively "light" to me. I could rarely find the sweet spot, and most often felt like a tin can on a stick. I haven't had the same experience with any other major brand. If I were you, I would trade it in while it is still worth something. After 3 attempts, I doubt if I would ever consider another Cleveland driver again.

You could try an R1 and put heavier moveable weights in the heel and toe..., or remain with the current driver...

place lead tape across the sole of your current driver in strategic places; golf works also sells tungsten weights that adhere to the sole like glue, and/or cut the current driver from the butt to 45 inches/44.5 inches.

Like above, lead tape will usually do the trick just go easy it only takes a little bit to change the swing weight pretty dramatically.

Cleveland has a number of lightweight drivers, not sure which one you have exactly, but they usually weigh around 305 grams unless you purchased their 270 gram or 290 gram models.

The Cleveland HiBore, and classic are terrible drivers, the Launcher 460 was probably one of the best drivers Cleveland ever made.

I am gonna disagree with you. I have played with too many fellows in too many games where they scored in the 60s to hear that statement without an AHEM!

I've tried to hit the Hibore and couldn't find a hot spot anywhere on the face, the classic not as bad but the Launcher 460 is pretty consistent across the face.

Cleveland should probably just stick with making wedges.

I use their wedges and find them great, but their hybrids are even better! I've often wondered what drivers were like!

I just purchased the Cleveland Classic XL (Black) and love it, beats my Cobra Amp Cell which I am now selling. I hit the Cleveland longer and straighter. I guess it just depends on what suits your swing / game.

Nobody mentioned it so in case you havent considered replacing the grip it might work out for you. 3 grams at the head is about 1 swingweight. The ratio from head to grip is roughly avg at 1:2. Losing 6g at the grip is roughly 1 swingweight. The UST grips are nice because they are somewhere around 40g instead of the traditional 52. Check out the specs on your grip though. If its light already, you may need a golf pride that is 25-30g. The gp superlight grips came out after that driver was introduced so it probably isnt that light. Get over to a proshop and measure the club you like and tell them what you want from that club sw.

Whatever it's worth... I have a set of cleveland 588 TT Irons. Before that I had CG Gold tour irons. Both are great clubs.

Try a Cobra Bio Cell +. I switched to this driver this year and the club was noticeable heavery than my Taylor Made Super Tri. I have problems hitting the light drivers due to a fast transition in my swing.
