Play has been stopped today but mostly everyone got their round in.

Nicolas Colsaerts flirted with 59 (would have been a European Tour first).

Watch how close he got here.

Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley shot a respectable 4 under.

Derksen seven holes left to play... Last couple of months Colsaerts is starting to play well again. Very impressive today.

Tournament ended after 36 holes, Levy pronounced winner. What a joke...

Why a joke? What did you expect them to do? Certainly not what anyone wanted to see happen but with the travel involved with the European Tour officials don't always have a lot a flexibility. I'd rather just say well done to Levy. He played two great rounds.

I call it a joke because halve of the field played in round 3 allready (Derksen more then nine holes for example). They should af least tried to finish round three tomorrow.

Derksen is a bit frustrated (he was actually on -5 for the day and at T13; because the erased the scores he was back to T47).

Quote:
Because of bad weather and a watery course the Portugal Masters were shortenend to 36 holes. That lead to big frustration from Derksen.
The man from Nijmegen started the last day of the already to 54 holes shortenend Portugal Masters at T47. After thirteen holes Derksen was -5 for the round and -9 for the tournament.
"I scored one shot better than how it was shown on the website of the European Tour. So I was at T13. Who knows what was possible on those last holes. And in this stage of the season it all counts big time."
No possbile top-10 for Derksen, but a T47. And because the tournament went down to 36 holes, the purse only counts for 75% in the rankings.
"I have no idea where I will be now in the Order of Merit" said a pretty upset Derksen right after the European Tour decided to also strike day 3 and consider the standings after 36 holes as final.
"Next week I'll play in Hong Kong and it might be my last tournament ever. With a good result here in Portugal I would be pretty much centrain of the BMW Masters in Shanghai and possibly the tournament in Turkey as well. Now all that is quite uncertain."
Despite the bad weather of the last couple of days, the tournament director Zamora didn't decide to start early ánd not to start from two tees.
"And that's why the tournament couldn't be finished. The course already was very wet, so after one heavy rain again it meant we couldn't play anymore. But Zamora told me and a couple of other players that the weatherman of the European Tour didn't expect this kind of rain anymore. And that surprised me, because the expectations I saw on internet told me something different"
"Starting from two tees and earlier on the tournament could have been finished. This is very inconfenient also for the guys who are struggling to get their Tour Card"

That really does suck for those needing money and ranking points. I was trying to look at the positive but as we all know they are always two sides, at least, to every story.

Indeed. If Derksen had been leading, he wouldn't be complaining.

True. Doesn't change that getting your score of that dat being erased is very frustrating. If everybody played two rounds it's better understandable. I would be quite angry as well in his position, especially if the organisation failed to anticipate on the forecast.

    • This is the first time I have played in this league but here is an interesting local rule they use. You are allowed to move your ball one score card length in either direction to improve your lie. Scorecard has to be in the folded position though. I love beachside golf. The other rule is you got to walk unless you have a handicap placard.
    • PGAT is all about Scottie right now and rightfully so. The PGAT has it's star right now and some potential good guys hoping Scottie takes some time off.  The LIV guys are of the radar until the PGA. There will be the Rory/ Hovland rumors to keep the fire smoldering until then.  You will probably get your wish as time moves on. What I like most about LIV is they are funded by a regime that has numerous human rights violations and the players don't seem to care. The fans certainly don't seem to mind. I admit, I went to LIV Miami to check it out, it wasn't empty.  I didn't see anyone protesting.
    • After 393 pages of replies can we all agree that Tiger is the GOAT?
    • Hmmm, seems odd. I have ordered several things from them and have never had an issue, so I'm confident it will be resolved. I'm sending the watch back, I don't care for it, Ill just use the H4. There's nothing technically wrong with it, I just don't like it.
    • Actually, I'm in a different league this year. That was at New Albany Golf Links.
