Finally took the plunge and ordered my new set of Titleist 714 AP1 irons with TT XP105, +0.5 and can't wait to get them now!! The wait is always the worst part! Haha Going for a full Titleist bag for the new season so the next step now is getting the new 915's when they drop! Come the end of November my bag make up will and should consist of the following: Driver: Titleist 915D2, 60g Regular Diamana Blue, 10.5 deg 3 Wood: Titleist 915F, 70g Regular Diamana Blue, 15 deg Hybrid: Titleist 915H, 70g Regular Diamana Blue, 18 deg Irons - 4-PW + GW (specs as above), 4 iron is at 23 deg, GW at 48 deg Wedges - SM5's both F Grind, 52/10 & 56/14 Putter - Scotty Cameron Golo 3 Both SM5's and the Golo3 were purchased a couple of months ago when I started putting together my new set so hoping to have everything in place come end of Nov! Exciting times ahead indeed! I will be selling my current setup in full and have a buyer so the final total expenditure of the new set up will turn it into a good deal! What do you guys think?

Looks like your bag is set for some serious golf.  You have to let us know how the new clubs work out for you, especially the 915 woods.

I think ... someone took TST for another forum.

But looking at your current bag, if you're ready for Titleist, you should be pleased.

It's much safer to make a post like that here (at least until @Shorty other forums where you'd be ripped to shreds for being a Titleist fanboy.  We're a lot nicer here!

Yep ... I just don't see that type of enthusiasm for clubs here. I almost spit my oatmeal... lol

We love our clubs, but in a low key way.

I wouldn't clasify myself as Titleist fanboy (yet!) hahaha! I've been playing Nike since I started playing golf again back in 2012 and felt that the time was right to upgrade. This time around I wanted to go for a more reputable and 'proper' golfing brand and I have always had a soft spot for Titleist so it was a no brainer.

I don't consider you a fanboy but other sites tend to give guys a hard time if they only play clubs from one manufacturer, often using terms like poser or fanboy if they do.

Their belief is only pro's with endorsement deals should limit their bags to one manufacturer.  I think you should play the clubs you like and play best regardless of who's name is on them.

You'll really get into trouble if you buy a Titleist Staff Bag :-P

Nope, wrong. You are definitely a fanboy. The "I'm not a fanboy" line gave it away as much as your bag.

And nothing wrong with being a fanboy as long as you are aware of it, and the pros and cons of your choice ... be reasonable.

Heck, at the moment I am an Edel and Callaway Fanboy, throw a little Bobby Jones Golf in there. Why? Because they seem to fit me and I've been fit for them ... and I've done exhaustive research that must stop.

I would like to get a set of Edel wedges for next year. How did you get fitted for those?

I was fortunate to have an Edel fitter only 30 minutes away. We got on the turf with various grinds hitting balls off fairway, wet, tight, narrowed it down to a couple of grinds, hit some more, and made a decision on grind. Went on Trackman, tried out several shafts and lie angle, and made decisions. Reviewed length of shaft, grip, etc.

It's worth a long drive for a good fitter.

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
