I love it when people try to be superior and snarky, but then shit the bed with their own comments. What the hell does " doth our cap" mean?

Yours in earnest, Jason.

I'm guessing they mean "doff." (Take off out of respect.)

But that's not what they wrote, so ...

The journalist hasn't bothered to do his research. I've played Craigielaw, their logo isn't a "bunny" it's a hare - a bigger, skinnier animal than a rabbit. And it's entirely appropriate to the club, because if you play there in the early morning or late afternoon you'll see lots of them playing around on the fairways. Nothing "odd" about it.

The more I practise, the luckier I hope to get.

Does this surprise you? :-)

It's an abbreviation ( or contraction) of "do off' - as in taking off one's hat.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

My logo ball rack is almost full from this year.  49 slots, only 6 empty ones remain.  But the bottom row is for 9 hole courses only and it has a few special logos that aren't courses, so I really have like 10 or 12 new courses to play for real.

Disappointments -

1 - anything super complicated - It has to look good on the golf ball

2 - just the text - hardly worth trying, just as well not have a logo

a couple of my favorites:

On the ball is just the graphic - It looks fantastic on that scale - nicely done, nice lines.  My favorite.

Sorry, but it's a golf course in Hawaii and the logo is a PINEAPPLE.  that's just too good.  The logo ball looks better than this.

This comes across on a golf ball REALLY nice.

Iowa state used to have this logo, then changed it.  I'm not sure why, this is classic.  I have one from over two decades ago.

Stonewolf, my home course, can be frustrating at times. BUT, we have a world-class logo!

Focus, connect and follow through!

[IMG] [/IMG] Here is one of the courses that I frequent. Hangman Valley. The background story on the name is a bit morbid but it's a fantastic course for $28.

I'm a fan of understated, so you can see why I like this one, from the Dormie Club in Pinehurst, NC.

One of my favorite souvenirs is a vest (is it a pullover for our UK friends?) that simply has "1786" on the front.  Just below the neck on the back it tells you its from the Crail golfing Society, the 7th oldest golf club in the world.  I knowits not the club logo, but I still like it.

the only thing wrong with this car is the nut behind the wheel.

This is a cool logo:

Heh heh...

Unfortunately, no such club exists - just a logo contest.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
