Just curious how many people save their golf balls when they make a good score on a hole. Here are my last 8 (out of 13) eagles. Also, if you save them, how many do you have, and where do you keep them? (Mine are displayed in my game room.)

Drivers: Bag 1 - TM R11 (10.5°); Bag 2 - Ping G5 (9°),
Fairway woods: #1 - TM RBZ Tour (14.5°) & TM System 2 Raylor (17°); #2 - TM Burner (15°) & TM V-Steel (18°)
Hybrid: #1 - TM Rocketballz (19°); #2 - Ping G5 (19°)
Irons: #1 - Ping i3+; #2 - Hogan Edge  (both 4-pw, +1" shaft)
Wedges: #1 - Ping i3+ U wedge (52°) & Ping Eye 2+ BeCu (60°); #2 - Ping ISI Sand BeCu (52°) & Cleveland CG11 lob (60°)
Putters: Ping B60i & Anser 2, Odyssey White Steel 2-Ball & White Hot XG #9, Lamkim Jumbp grips
Golf Balls: Titleist Pro V1, Bridgestone B330, Callaway SR1, Slazenger Grips: Lamkin Crossline
Golf Shoes: Footjoy & Adidas; Golf Glove: Footjoy StaSof®; Golf Bag: Ping Hoofer
I love this game! :-D

Yeah, I do. I don't write on them though. I don't have that many of them, and the ones I do have are kept with the score card they were used with.

Now here's a certifiable hang up I have....according to my wife. I collect "lost" golf balls. By that I mean golf balls that have been lost by others. Yes, all of them have been collected after they stopped moving. Over the years, I have collected 8, 32 gallon trash cans full of used golf balls. I still have 3 left. The other five I donated to other worthy causes. I traded one barrel full of balls to a golf course for their driving range for two rounds of golf. I have no idea what the total number of balls would be, but it has to be in the thousands.

I saved the balls from my first bogey, par, birdie, first hole out from the sand and showcase them in a little display rack I keep in my home office.  I had a plaque made for my hole in one that holds the ball and a picture of the hole.

My display rack has an open spot for my first eagle and hopefully some other future memory worthy achievements.

I saved the ball from my first and only hole-in-one ... however, I've moved about 6 times since then and I have absolutely no idea where it actually is at this point.  I think I also saved the ball from my first and only round under par ... same thing though, lost in a box somewhere.

I imagine if I were to ever complete either of those feats again, I'd probably save the ball again ... only to lose it in the garage somewhere one day.

How the heck to you move them?

I was going down the same road but fortunately my wife interceded.  Now I sort out a few that I use or give away.  The rest I take to the driving range and hit in lieu of buying a bucket.

As far as balls from special occasions, I tend to save the scorecard rather than the ball.  Keep a scrap book.  My first hole-in-one ball is sitting in an old desk drawer in the basement.

Can you sell me one of your H-in-O balls? :-D

When I get an ace, I will probably keep that one.

When... not if.

CarlSpackler:  I like your positive attitude. I do want to tell you a story about a friend, Sam, who has been golfing more than 40 years. He is an avid golfer that would golf more than 50 times a year and keep a spreadsheet of statistics that would choke a horse. But, to this day, he still does not have a hole-in-one.

Now about 10 years ago Sam's wife, Mary, and my wife were enticed to join a ladies group called the "Driving Divas." A few of the ladies had some experience, some not so much. My wife had been golfing a couple of years and Mary maybe one year.

Well, wouldn't you know, after playing only about two or three years, Mary goes on a golf outing with the Driving Divas and gets a hole-in-one. Boy, does Sam, still to this day, take the abuse when the couples go out for dinner. Comments like, "Hey Mary, did you save the ball from your hole-in-one?"  Or, "Sam here's my new cell phone number, I want you to call me right away when you get as many aces as Mary."

To tell the truth, that's not the most abuse Sam has taken over the years. I could tell you a story about how Sam ended up getting a tick on his private parts... but I won't.

This is a little off-topic, but we were talking about saving balls.

I don't keep any, nor do I plan to, even if I should get a hole in one. Heck, I'll probably just keep playing with it.

The ball didn't do anything I didn't tell it to do, after all. Its sole contribution was being the random ball I happened to use on that swing. :)

I've never thought about doing something like that. I'll probably do that when I get an ace though.

We would shovel about half the barrel into smaller milk crates, load everything into a truck, and go from there. When I need to move the three I still have I just use a dolly. They weigh less than a large refrigerator does

Lol, when i got my hole in one, I kept playing with it, not even thinking that I should've saved it. I called my best friend later on to tell him, and he told me to mount the ball on a plaque, and I felt like such an idiot when i realized that the ball was somewhere in the woods never to be found again after a vicious push-slice later that round.

I kept my hole in one ball! I couldn't imagine not taking it out of play and keeping it safe! My wife had it framed with my scorecard. When I first started playing I made a hole in one on a Par 3 course and kept that ball for a while. After I made another one on the same course I didn't think it was such a big deal and didn't keep up with it!

I would show you a picture of my hole in one balls, but alas I don't have any

I did keep one ball from a couple of years ago - my 11 year old son, who had just started to want to play made his first birdie. I think it was a bigger deal to me then it was to him.

Nope. I have, so far, two hole-in-one's. Didn't keep either one of the balls. Got too much crap as is. No need for other unnecessary crap.
