Will be turning 60 in Feb. I am contemplating a new driver in the offseason.

Current setup, Cobra 10.5* offset Driver regular flex. Average 220-230- off the tee with it. 2 seasons ago I bought a couple of Cobra baffler hybrids in senior flex  This past season I got new fairway woods and irons. Both in senior flex. Picked up about 10 yards each per club.

So here is my question. I am looking at a Cobra Bio flex driver. Would switching to the senior flex in that also be beneficial?

Or should I stay in a regular flex? I don't swing as hard as I used to. Keeps any back issues from reappearing.

Welcome to the forum @zebra2955

The best way to answer your question is to try it out.  Without seeing your swing, it is really tough to guess.  With that being said, I would stick with regular because you are averaging 225 off the tee.  Senior shaft in a driver may be too soft for your swing speed.

How far do you hit your 7 iron USUALLY? if it's about 135-150 stay with regular, if its 115-130 stay with senior.

also keep in mind "offset" is not offered in the bio cell, I think only the baffler XL has offset.

why 7 iron?,well its a club that golfers frequently use, they usually hit well and consequently usually know how far it carries. So the distance is relitive to swing speed and flex.

That's the thing. I have been reading about that. With my old clubs that had a regular flex I would hit my 7 iron about 130-135. With my new clubs , Cobra bafflers senior flex about 140-145

This is what got me thinking about changing my driver flex.

Also, shafts have different characteristics, I had an Adila RIP stiff shaft, that had a whippy low kick point, and felt more like a ladies flex..My Son and I both have taylormade RBZ stage 2 4h, mine is reg, his is stiff, yet I hit both about the same, funny cuz he likes my reg flex club better, and he also hits all of his clubs much farther than I do. So I don't rely on flex alone, how the shaft reacts, and it's weight is more important to me than flex. Something to think about.

It could even be the newer technology / club head design that's giving you the extra yards, shafts are often over rated and only really make a difference to the really skilled player or when you go up or down 2 flexes. I just recently bought 2 of the same club, (don't ask) with different shafts, on paper, the one for me was nowhere near as good as the one I was mistakenly sent, I ended up keeping the mistake! Plus, I always think it's better to play a little stiffer than softer so I would stick with reg!

Would you mind telling me which shaft worked and which one didn't.  Just curious.

I know the new technology in my irons is definitely a big difference.

Maybe the 2 club option might work if I could get them both for a good price, then which one don't work sell it on eBay

I got sent an aldila phenom stiff by mistake, arranged the refund then got diamana regular, I took them both to the range, put impact tape on them, hit about 20 balls with each, and the stiff gave me a much better shot/flight/distance, and the reg was just hooking, so I kept the stiff and got my my money back on eBay for the reg, I was quite surprised, as all my other clubs are reg, but it goes to show you need to try before you buy, It's not just about swing speed, the transition from back swing to down swing plays a big part and not the fastest swinger but I'm quite aggressive on the down swing!
