So my sister is looking to buy my brother in law a push cart for christmas and she asked me what I knew about them. I said I know you push them lol. She said he mentioned Clic Gear and from the little research I have done thus far it appears to be the best brand out there. Can anyone help me help her by explaining the differences between the models? Is there any other brands or models she should consider? And he currently has a stand bag... How much more friendly would a cart bag be for a push cart? He never carries his bag so a stand bag makes little sense for him. He rides 90% of the time and walks only occasionally. Thanks for all the help in advance everyone!

Callaway XR 9.5 + 1, Taylormade R15 3 Wood, Burner 3 Rescue, Callaway XHot 5H, Warbird 4H, Nike Vapor Fly 6-AW Irons, Titleist Vokey 54, 60 Wedges, Taylormade Rossa Fontana Putter, Srixon Z-Star Tour Yellow.

Best Score 2017:  82 (Traditions at the Glen, Par 70)

Favorite Course - Conklin Players Club (Par 72) - Best Score 86

The Model 8 cart has a smaller footprint when opened but is slightly bigger than the 3.5 when folded up.  The 3.5 has a wider base when in use, but folds up a bit smaller.  I have seen both on the course and the owners liked them a lot.  I may ask for one of these for a birthday present next year.  I currently use a pull cart.  Clicgear link is below with details.

Sun Mountain also makes good carts.

The Micro is a very popular cart.

If you could get to a golf store, you would see the differences and features.

I have the prior year's model of this Caddytek cart. It's wonderful: it folds so easily, it's very reliable, and it rolls very smoothly because it has shocks in the front wheels.

I've seen similar models, like their Explorer model, go for around $99 for the 4 wheel.

I actually just yesterday bought a brand new stand bag for my clubs despite not having carried my bag on the course for over a year. I strongly considered getting a cart bag because they seem so much roomier and organized, but I just don't like that cart bags will stand vertically at the driving range. I worry they'd tip over if the ground were uneven or if someone bumped them. I just think the stand bag is more versatile. Just pick carefully that the clubs will slide out easily. The bag I had previously was too narrow in the side slots, so the clubs would wedge in on themselves. I went to the store and literally filled the bag I was trying out with 14+ demo clubs just to be sure of easy removal!

I bought the Callaway Chev stand bag, for what it's worth.

^^^^^ Also works great with a stand bag as there is a place on the bag rest to accomodate the stand bag legs without twisting and turning..

You can see that feature in one of the amazon pics.

BTW, I have a Sun Mountain Micro 4 wheel cart that one of the wheels dropped off in less than six months... so I can't recommend that cart.

I have owned Bag Boy and Sun Mountain 3 wheeled carts.  Both perform very well. I would still be using the Bagboy except I managed to destroy it by backing over it.  I also had a 4 wheel Bag Boy, which folded us nice and small but was harder to push.  I don't think you can go wrong with the major carts, Bagboy, Sun Mountain and Clicgear.

Loyalty above all else, except honor.

1+ on the caddytek 4 wheel that is what I have and love it, well built folds and in folds easily.

Can you three gents write reviews in the Equipment Section?  That would really help.

I just received the golf bag yesterday and haven't had a chance to take it out on the course, so I'll try to review it in the future.

I have the Clicgear oldest version 1.0 and love it.

They are a well made cart that folds and unfolds very easily.

It is a 3 wheeled push cart.

I have a two-wheel push-pull cart and I hate it because my bag keeps rotating with each hole.  By hole 9, my bag will have rotated 120 degrees and the handle of the bag is pointing down.  Also it tips over sorta easy.

What's In My Bag...

FW / Hybrid: Nike T40 4W 17* / Nike CPR 24*
Irons: Callaway Razr X HL 5I-SW

I use a bungee to keep it centered.
