Holiday golf in Atlanta: need advice

I'll be in Atlanta over the holidays so need some ideas on where to play, weather expectations and green fees. Not into luxury, in fact the opposite.  Good practice facilities also needed.  Would luv to hit a few buckets off the turf, not the mat for a change. Will be down near airport and can see Brown Mill on google map.  What's the scoop? Thnx.
