I've been Playing Golf for: 2 years

My current handicap index or average score is: 12

My typical ball flight is: hook and push/slice

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: pull hock

Videos:

Driver

And a good iron when i don't push the ball.

Im working to eliminate my overswing and across the line.

But i need know if the problem of my hook is a esagerate in to out path.

2 month ago my swing was out to in and i worked to change the path.

Welcome to the forum @Psyco .

It is a little tough to see due to the darkness of the video and you need to move back a bit on the driver video so we can see more.  Also, a face on view would help.

Any chance you could post another video?

Pull hooks look like they are happening because your lower half stalls on the downswing and you get stuck and just swing around yourself and get a pull hook, remember the downswing begins from the ground up sometimes even before the whole backswing is completed players will begin the downswing by initiating their weight shift and hip turn, to eliminate that hook get the lower body going more early.

The upper part of your right arm slides behind you (past the shirt seam) and that is causing some issues on the downswing. You don't really give yourself any room to swing the arms down so the wrists have to uncock early, shaft steepens out and the right elbow stays up and behind you. Going to lead to contact problems, pushes and pulls.

I recommend doing this drill.

Did you get a chance to work on the drill? Arms still look like they're sliding behind you.

Check out these thread, might need to add the feel that the right arm is straighter on the backswing.

I have see the video mvmac and i have try the correct move at home

Yep that's the idea. Just make sure to keep turning as the right arm feels straighter/elbow more in front (whatever your feel was).

Thx i try saturday in the pratice range.

It's possible my hook is caused left chicken wing over a bad weight transfer?

Yes for you the chicken wing is a result of the arms sliding behind and the lack of weight shift on the downswing.

New video of progress

It's very difficult for me play with this move if it's correct.

I need more pratice

I have play yesterday with 90% of power with iron and driver. Much better, straight ball and good timing. No pull hook but only little draw  10 meters off from fairway and two driver center of the fairway.

Looks much better to my (fairly uneducated) eyes and the timing looks really nice - just that stall at the top that looks a bit odd. Keep working at it!

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

The stall at the top is bad because my wrists give away and the club go down.

I have try many times to block my wrists but i have not been successful

Feel as though your swing stops when your left arm is horizontal. In other words, ridiculously short.

I work on my new swing in this holidays.

I have more problem to do the correct movement.

Yesterday i have play a nice louisiana with nice shot and a perfect driver. I have try to play a fade on every shot for stop my hands flipping in a devastate hook and this has succefull work.

Now i don't hook the ball but the flight is a little pull or fade 5-15 meters right to flag.

I try to coming more inside to the ball with passive hands for try to eliminate the fade effect.

For mvmacs and iacas: i work to sliding and short my backswing but is very hard for me. I need much more time and more pratice for resett my old swing.

    • I agree with @klineka & @DaveP043 above.  When a new member first joins the club they cold be told that they are not eligible for tournaments until they have an established HCP.  As you said, it only takes a few rounds.  If they do not to post HCP that was their choice and choices have consequences.  If playing in the tournament is important to them then they should step up and establish an HCP.  Maybe they miss the 1st tournament, is that a real big deal?  And if it is a "Big Deal" to them then they had the opportunity to establish the HCP. As for not knowing how to report for HCP I assume your club has a pro and they should be able to assist in getting the scores reported and I suspect out of state courses may also have staff that can assist if asked.

    • Cool here's my tweak, "If a player’s ball lies in the general area and there is interference from exposed tree roots or exposed rocks that are in the fairway or 1 club length from the fairway the tree roots and exposed rocks are treated as ground under repair. The player may take free relief under Rule 16.1b.[But relief is not allowed if the tree roots only interfere with the player’s stance.]
    • I would never do the extended warranty on the $50 slow cooker.  I also routinely reject the extended service plans on those toys we buy for the grand-kids.  I do consider them on higher cost items and will be more likely to get one if the product has a lot of "Electronic Tech" that is often the problem longer-term.  I also consider my intended length of ownership & usage.  If my thought is it would get replaced in 2-3 years then why bother but if I hope to use it for 10 years then more likely to get the extension. I did buy out a lease about a year ago.  Just prior to the lease end date the tablet locked up and would not function.  I got it repaired under the initial warranty and would not have bought it out if they had not been able to fix it since IMO once electronic issues start in a car they can be hard to track down & fix.  They did fix it but when I bought out the lease I paid up for the extended warranty the would cover electronic failures because my intent is to keep that car for another 8-10 years and I just do not trust the electronics to last.  Last week the touch screen went black and was unresponsive.  It reset on the 2nd time I restarted the car but that is exactly how the last malfunction started.  I fully expect to have a claim on that on repair under the extended warranty.  I do not recall the exact cost to fix last time since I did not pay it but I think it was @ $700-$800 and I suspect that will be higher next time.
    • Have you looked at Model Local Rule F-9 Relief from Tree Roots in or Close to Fairway?  You could extend this to cover exposed rocks.  The rule is recommended to be used only for areas relatively near the fairway, a player who hits a shot 20 yards in the woods doesn't really deserve relief.   Players can always take Unplayable Ball relief, they're not required to play it from a rock or a root.  Of course, they hate to take the penalty stroke too.
