Just curious what shafts and settings you guys that have these drivers are using. I currently have a bio cell with the red tie shaft, and set at 10.5 degrees, and I just got a great deal on a slightly used + with a diamana shaft that may replace the bio cell once it gets warmer and I can go to the range and see which I hit better.

I have the Bio Cell (not plus), and have tried all different settings. I have a PX6.0 shaft and have mine set to 9 degrees, but have found that the carry increases with 11.5 degrees. The reason why I have mine set to low right now is because I am making a lot of swing adjustments. When I was playing better a month or so ago, I had it set to 11.5 for maximum carry.

Your Diamana shaft is going to be stiffer than the PX6.0 (probably even the regular flex Diamana), so you might need to make a lot of adjustments.

For reference, my SS varies as much as 7-10 mph (as measured on a few launch monitors) depending upon my "mood", and I pretty much just adjust the loft depending upon my "mood". This last week, I got anywhere from about 200 to 260 yards on a decent drive with some or no roll with an average drive in the 225-230 range. My simulator results fall in line with the course numbers as well.

Yea I had the px shaft in my biocell in regular flex and hated it, felt really whippy to me. So I got the red tie and like that a lot better. If anything I can take the red tie out of the bio cell and put it in the plus too or the other way around

If you have a nice inside-out swing with a nice straight shot, the whip might help you gain some height and possibly distance.

When I was at the shop picking up my Bio Cell, I tested it with a PX5.5 flex (regular). I kind of liked the feel, but was not confident enough in my swing at that time. I was averaging 242 yard carries with the PX5.5 shaft and about 30 yards height with the 10.5 degree setting, but I had a lot more left/right dispersion than with the PX6.0. I felt that as I was prone to slicing the PX6.0 already, and the pro recommended that I use the PX6.0 and I left it at that. However, the PX6.0 barely gets me 225-230 yard carries in the field and very infrequently 240+ yard carries. My guess is that the PX5.5 would give me extra yardage and height, and at this point would not slice/hook as much.

So, you should test all the shafts and go with whatever feels good to you.

Yea I actually get plenty of height with the red tie and more distance then I did with the stock shaft. I've heard from the internet reviews that the higher loft gives more distance so I'll have to play with different combos of what I have when it warms up and see what works better. I'd really like to take them to a fitter when it warms up, I just need to find one that I trust, the only one I know of has a 20 year old laser launch monitor and I don't know enough about it to know if it's good or not.

I think it's a matter of getting the optimal launch angle and lowest spin for your SS with whatever loft you need to get it?

This is the only thing that matters and I completely agree with this^^^^^.

The shafts aren't going to change much of anything.  A few hundred revs of spin is about all your going to see.  Where you hit the ball on the club face  and which club head your using is going to determine a lot more then the shaft stuck in the club.

I found a fitter in Lexington which is about an hour and a half from me that uses a flight scope outdoors for their fittings so I think when the weather warms up enough I'll set up a fitting with them, I've never been fitted for clubs before other than the big box store simulators which suck.
