Golf Digest found it. A guy from reddit posted it. I skim reddit/r/golf.

Here's the GD post: http://www.golfdigest.com/blogs/the-loop/2014/12/funny-golf-video-fail-gif-ball-hit-in-head.html

I hate to laugh at someone else's misfortune, but man, this is funny.

Video cameras are everywhere, you do something stupid, chances are it will get out.

I don't know if I could do that "trick shot" even if I tried.

People with terrible swings can do some crazy things to the golf ball. I remember when I brought my mother in law to the driving range and let her take a few swings with my club. Somehow she managed to sky a ball backwards 30 yards in air towards the opposite end of the driving range stall. My wife and I watched nervously as it bounced 10 feet away from the only other guy there and bounded down the concrete towards the practice putting green. He looked up briefly, gave a confused glance in our direction and went back to hitting balls. I still have no idea how that happened

I think he toed the ball and it hit the ball tray (made of rubber), the ricocheted off his head? I've possibly seen hundreds of thousands of swings on the driving range and have yet to see something like this. Poor kid. . .

Where do find all this stuff @nevets88 ? :-D

Anyone here ever play at a course where they have those big stone markers next to the tee boxes?   They are a 3-4 wide and six feet tall, or near that.   I saw someone hit their ball, clip it so that it went dead right and hit the monument that was 90 degrees away from where he was aimed.   Shot over his head and landed by the next group waiting to tee off (it was the first hole).   I don't think his day got better...

If you slow motion the video, the ball doesn't ricochet off anything. It directly goes to his head. He had to have super fatted it, hit the top part of the clubface.

I think if he took this swing on grass, he would have been fine, he would of just dug out a gargantuan divot and the ball goes nowhere.

Or maybe topped it?

I seriously doubt it. Look at that ax chop of a swing. I think the only way you get that kind of height is to go under it.

He would need to get essentially a 90 degree ascent angle. Even a lob wedge setup at the lead foot wouldn't get an ascent angle that steep, and it looks like he's using a wood?

How would that happen off a mat?

heel of the club smashes the ball into the mat and it rebounds straight up?

That's what I think happened.

Doh, you're right, he's using a wood. I just assumed it had to be a wedge. It had to have ricocheted off that black ball holder thing then. Look how close the ball is to the edge of the mat. I stand corrected. The nerve of the guy not recording in 120fps HD so we could all see the failness in all its glory.

I have been playing golf for over 40 years. My shots go in the general direction, trajectory, and distance I intend 90% of the time, BUT I can still hit a wacky seriously hideous shot I have never seen every once in a while!

The girl taking the video got a chuckle, and it was her fault for not putting the camera in 240fps mode. :-D

In any case, it was a funny post. Keep posting more of them.
