Easy to use hybrids and 3-5 woods, tips please!

I am newbie to golf (started last summer). I play a set of older Callaways (Older Big Bertha 9 degree driver, X-3 wood, Heaven wood 20 degree hybrid, X-18 irons). I am pretty ok with the driver and irons, but I have lot´s of trouble hitting the hybrid and 3 wood ok. I usually slice it very much ( a problem I do not have with the other clubs)).

So I am thinking of trying to test some hybrids/3-5 woods during the winter and see if I can find anything that I like.

So any tips for easy to hit hybrids and 3-5 woods are very welcome. new or a bit older does not really matter.

I play stiff shaft in the driver and regular in the 3 wood and hybrid, I wonder if that can be part of the problem?

Thanks! Yes, I am planning to visit a few shops and try to hit as many as possible. Good also to get some info on a bit older clubs, since if i am lucky I may find something cheap

Had not really played hybrids in years (was leaning on my 9 wood), but got the Callaway x hot 3+4 hybrids for xmas and they are very easy to hit.

Also just picked up the x2 hot 6 hybrid and it just feels like I am cheating.

My own personal preference, but I like a really big head on a fairway wood. Some of Callaway's newer woods just seem tiny when I'm standing over the ball. I hit them fine, but I wouldn't feel good about them on a tee. Even their Deep series. It's really not something you can get a sense of without having it in your hand, so you should hop over to a golf shop and try some out off the rack. Personally, I think Nike's Covert range (especially the Tour model) is fantastic looking, and performs very well, too. The Tour version is great also because it can be adjusted +/- 2° of loft, so you can play around with them as driving woods or add loft to give yourself help getting them off the ground. And they can be had for a song through sites like Global Golf or via a deal site like Divot. I got the original Covert Tour for something ridiculous like $80 through Divot Daily. But I tried it out first.

I wouldn't get too hung up over shaft flex. My whole set is regular flex because I bought it right as I started playing and I didn't know better (nor did I hit it far). The Nike Covert I bought last year, and that's stiff flex. I'm starting to look at drivers and, based on measurements at Golfsmith launch monitors, I'm on the bubble between stiff and x-stiff based on my swing speed (105ish and trending up after a lesson). I don't really worry about it. I think you'll be able to swing whatever you buy without too much issue.

So I'm the other way around: my driver is regular and my 3 wood is stiff. I prefer the feeling of the stiff purely in how much it wiggles when I waggle it at address. In my swing, I don't think I could tell you which is which if you gave me two clubs and just had me swing them. My new driver will either be a stiff or x-stiff (probably stiff), but I'm not sweating it. If I find one flex over the other much cheaper (as happens on Amazon), I'll go with it.

Largest hybrid head ever made is the Cobra S3 Max, and they paired it with a relatively short shaft for this category so on paper I think that makes it the easiest (but offers little feedback on the quality of your strike).

For fairway woods the easiest I've come across is the Adams Super S.

Be sure to test out the Tour Edge Exotics XRails. These are SGI fairway woods, with a v-shaped sole to cut through the grass, heel and toe weighting, and a slightly low-profile head to help with launch.

For a longer FW, be sure to try both the 3W and 4W. The hybrids are decent also.

Ping K15 range of hybrids and woods are very forgiving and have offset to help counter that slice!

The easiest hybrid on the market to hit is the Cobra Baffler XL hybrid. They have over-sized twin rails on the bottom to minimize turf interaction - you want as little as possible. Easy to hit, with a lot of forgiveness. $79 direct from Cobra or from your local golf store. They come with lite, regular, and stiff shafts.

It was interesting to see an older model of this hybrid in Lexi Thompson's bag in 2013.

Thanks for the tips everyone. It seems that tour Exotics are not sold in Sweden, so it might be hard for me to try them here...but I will make sure to scan the used market to see what i can find of your suggestions....and of course visit a golf store or two to test as many as i can.

I did try a older (2009?) Cobra FW 5 (I think it was a S3, need to check) yesterday which I played very well. Pretty long and straight shots everytime (played in a simulator). Hopefully I can get that used for a nice price
