The 2011 Hot List ranked these irons as Game-Improvement. The stock shafts are lightweight steel (about 90 grams) and are flighted: The bend points vary from club to club, so that the longer irons get a little boost on launch, while the short irons have slightly higher flex point to prevent the shots from ballooning (jumping up too high).

Here's the write-up: http://hotlist.golfdigest.com/l/979/TaylorMade-Burner-2-0

Maltby gave them an MPF = 607, also in the Game Improvement range.

I would say test them out, and see if you like them. A stronger player might find they feel a bit light. Also, get a static fitting to make sure they fit you for dynamic lie angle, shaft length, grip size and flex.

I seen a lot of average golfers play them, but I haven't played them myself. Possibly others can give Seth some first-hand advice on Burner 2.0 irons?

I bought the Burner 1.0 which is very close to the plus set when I first started playing lefty about 3 years ago. The plus felt almost the same, and are pretty decent clubs. As Wutiger said, make sure they fit.

Early this spring I went to my local Golfsmith with the intention of replacing the 20 year old Chinese clones of Ping or Callaway irons that I had. I was looking at the Burner + irons and hit the 6 iron fairly well in one of their bays. The price was right but unfortunately, they did not have the irons in left hand.

I was able to purchase a set of Burner 2.0's for the same price that they had the Burner + irons on sale for.

They're 1 generation newer and I hit them ok. The clubs are better than I am at this point and hit the ball straight when I do my part.

I don't play golf, I play at golf. There's a difference.

I tried all three generations of the Burner, and the RBZ. They all felt nearly the same for me at the time. I suppose a newer generation might look better? TM repackages their technology fairly often.
