Bridgestone golf has become one of the more recognized brands when it comes to golf balls, but the company is still not as well known for the clubs that they make. Recently, the company announced the J15 line up which includes four different sets of irons; the MB, CB, DPF, and DF. With that release, the company believes that it has a set of irons to fit nearly anybody's game. For more info on the J15 irons, see our Bag Drop article .

In addition to the new irons, the company is releasing the J15 forged wedges. The company claims that the wedges have unmatched spin and versatility due to three key features:

  1. The Sure contact sole, which has unique heel side shaping. While other companies hand grind their soles, Bridgestone doesn't, and it is their unique forging process which they say ensures that this area is never touched by hand and therefore ensures consistency.
  2. Pro Groove Design - The engineers at Bridgestone focused mainly on increasing the inner groove area in the new wedges. This increased their ability to channel dirt, water and other debris away from the face to increase spin.
  3. Durable Heat Treatment - The faces of the wedges are heat-treated. The company claims that this leads to greater durability and a wedge with a longer life by creating a reinforced face that doesn't create issues with the clubs feel or performance.

The new wedges feature a teardrop shape and are available in two different finishes; either black oxide or satin. The wedges come in six available lofts (50, 52, 54, 56, 58, and 60). The clubs will come in both left and right handed versions and can be had starting on February 1st for $119 each.
