hi there, was at the driving range hitting my ping g5 driver and started to notice a different sound that my club made on impact, as this sound was not abnormal, it was just slightly different, i never gave it a thought to look at the club face..... i since realised after looking at the club face there is a massive crack right in the sweet spot on the face and bent slightly in... surely this should never happen to a club of that quality... i do hit the ball hard but no matter how hard, a club head of this stature should never give in like this surely....

any ideas if this sort of problem can be fixed or is it not fixable?? hope i dont have to buy a new driver, ive spent £330 ($650) on this club with the re shaft and hope i dont have to buy a complete new driver any replies appreciated thanks

i think ping will replace it, i know several other major OEMs will do the same. My friends G2 cracked like 2 years ago and they sent him a new head, im pretty sure it was free. Get in touch with your ping rep or call them, theyll help you sort stuff out.

As mentioned above, get in touch with your Ping Rep. In some cases the place where you bought the club will send it back to Ping for you. That happened to a friend. His 3 wood head was damaged, and the Golfsmith sent it back for free (shipping) as a "sorry for the inconvience." The Golfsmith also gave him a demo to use until he got his club back. Check with the place you purchased first.

I had the old ping SI3 driver that did the same. I took it into the shop and they sent it to ping. I had to pay the shipping to ping but that was it

hi, many thanks for the replies, i thought about sending it to ping, but then i thought they wouldnt accept responsibility because ive had a new shaft put in it by the local driving range. When i first took it for a reshaft, I was told it invalidates the gurantee on it i suppose i can always try because its obviously a club fault and not mine, its right in the sweet spot so shouldnt do that..... do you still think its worth taking it to ping or not???? many thanks

yea they will replace it for free. I broke my RCH Callaway shaft on an old VFT Hawkeye just at the beginning of the summer and Callaway replaced it still. As long as the break comes in the course of normal play, I believe they have to replace it.

    • A bit of background. The Southern California Golf Association (SCGA) runs an annual event known as "Team Play." It is a wildly popular match play competition where Men's Clubs across the region put together teams of 20+ golfers together to compete against other clubs in a 16 vs. 16 match. In any given year, approximately 80-100 clubs will participate. Each club is grouped into "pods" of 4, and will play 6 total matches - one home and one away match against the other 3 clubs. The winning club from each pod advances to the Team Play Playoffs - a single elimination format - until a winner is crowned.  Antelope Valley Country Club just advanced to the championship match for the 3rd consecutive year. They won the championship in both 2022 and 2023.  Based on my review of the match history from the past 3 years (linked below), they have won 21 consecutive team matches. Keep in mind, these are handicapped matches, so this is not just a case where a group of sticks bands together to dominate the poor amateurs other SoCal clubs. Even if these guys are grinders who never quit, play their best under pressure and routinely putt the lights out, the law of averages still say that a streak of that nature is mathematically impossible.  Is there any plausible explanation beyond institutionalized sandbagging throughout the club? • Interesting that Scottie is #10 on the all time money list and he's been on the PGAT for 4 years. Of course, purses are bigger now, but  neat to look at non-the-less.  The list of top 18 money winners in PGA Tour history has plenty of surprises This list is updated through the 2024 RBC Heritage. To add, Scottie won 4.5 million at the Players, Jack played 44 seasons and won a little of 5 million on course.

Squat when I stand back up I lift the kettlebell up over and behind my head and hold then repeat
