Getting Clubs slightly above my game? - Page 2

Re: Getting Clubs slightly above my game?

The only thing that really jumps out at me, is that your hybrid is way too lofted. If your hybrid is supposed to be acting as your 3 iron then it should have a loft of approx 21 degree, not 26. Also you should think about getting a 52 degree wedge as a gap in between your PW and 56.

I am also somewhat of a beginner so I don't know nearly as much about clubs as others on this forum. That being said, my instincts were to get rid of my "super game improvement" Ping Raptures and go with Titleist 755's back in June and I'm glad I did. Whereas my Pings tended to hide my swing flaws somewhat, my Titty's highlighted them, thus forcing me to improve my mechanics and ball striking. During that time I've gone from a 21 to a 13.

I have really no idea what's right for you obviously, but I do know that one size does not fit all. Good luck.

My hybrid is fine. I hit it extremely well and as far as I need to, around 200 yards.

If you're truly trying to lower your score, new clubs that are less forgiving that what you already have is the wrong direction. If what you really want is to justify new clubs (you didn't say that, I am pretending you think like me), just do it.

I can tell you that the only thing that has helped my game (and it did it fast), were lessons followed by lots of practice. I have been playing 12 years and took my first lesson this year. The knowledge and understanding of what is happening during my swing and what I should feel when things are being done properly are invaluable. New clubs could never help me with that. They'd only cause different reactions to my old swing flaws.
