Recently ordered Oakley Bottle Rockets with G30 lens tailored with Single Vision prescription which was well within the Oakley specifications.

Sunglasses fitted well and G30 lens very clear, however on practice range first day in golf setup the distortion made it look like my legs were 30% shorter. This is occurring regardless of whether I am looking through the center or towards edge of lens.  On-course it got worse almost falling as I stumbled over any uneven ground as a result of the distortion. On putting both the ball and the hole looked smaller

With a very supportive Optical retailer everything was re-checked including prescription and new lens ordered from Oakley though unfortunately with little improvement.

The sunglasses have been returned to the retailer ( who have offered a full refund) though in discussions with them have left in abeyance, whilst I explore options as I still need a solution for my golf.

Not sure if the wrap (curved) glasses are just not suited to accurate prescriptions and I need to go for flatter design.

Any experience of other golfers with single vision prescription appreciated particularly if someone knows of an effective solution.

I've used Oakley M-frames with a prescription for years.  I only notice the distortion at the edges.  My prescription is not the bad though.  The Bottle Rockets don't look like they have a curve greater than the M-Frames.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Years ago, when the "featherweight" eyeglass lenses were released at Pearle Vision Express, I picked up a set made in my prescription. I'll admit that the lenses were the lightest ones I had ever worn at the time (especially due to my bad eyes) but I had to take them back after a few days. There was a blueish tint that was on everything that I couldn't stand and found very distraction. The lenses were remade but I still couldn't tolerate them. So I went with polycarbonate and have ever since.

Maybe, if you're having issues with the grind on the curver Oakley lenses, get the G30 tint on a standard pair of lenses and wear contact lenses. That is unless you aren't able to wear contacts... then I'd suggest you try to find an Oakley lens that has less of a curvature and might be a better fit for you.

There are other makers that offer a similar tint to Oakley's G30 but cannot call it G30 due to copyright and trademark laws.
