I've gone to the range the past two days and my swing is absolutely abysmal after a long layoff and some (apparently) failed indoor practice all winter. I tried videoing my swing today, but I was alone at the range and with me going caseless with my iPhone 6 unlike its predecessors, I can't really risk balancing it precariously on my golf bag or a bench like in years past. I have a really good adjustable and collapsible camera tripod that I'd like to make use of, but I don't have any good way to attach the phone to the universal screw on the tripod. I've seen some adapters on Amazon but the market seems bimodal: either they're super-expensive or they're worryingly cheap. I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for one before I take the plunge. I mentioned that I have an iPhone 6 for a reference on size; obviously it doesn't have to be designed for that model, just be able to accommodate it.

My biggest asks from the product are that it be sturdy enough that I don't need to worry that my phone will fall out and that it be relatively easy to get the phone in and out. Ideally, it would attach via something that clicked or screwed in, as opposed to being spring-loaded. Anyway, I welcome any suggestions you might have! Thanks.

Do an Amazon search for this one.

I bought one back in December and have used it a few times now. It seems well made and was reasonably priced. I use it with my iPhone 6 and a bluetooth remote.

Thanks! These look really promising. Do you guys film in horizontal / landscape orientation or do you orient the phone vertically with the tripod? It just occurred to me I usually film vertically because it uses the screen real estate better. These don't seem to have any bracing from it slipping out downwards if it were vertical. Do you have any insight into how well it would hold the phone vertically?

It would be fine because the undersides are rubber and you can tighten pretty tight such that it won't budge. To this point I've only done landscape, but it prolly does make more sense for swings, especially DTL, to go portrait.

The one I use has rubber grabber arms also. The phone so far has been very stable in it and I have only used it in portrait mode.

Here is a pic of my wife's phone in it.

This one works well for me anyways.

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. Did he do any of these things? TIGER WOODS' AMATEUR VICTORIES YEAR WIN(S) 1984 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1985 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1988 Boy's 11-12 Junior World Golf Championships   1989 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships   1990 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships, Insurance Youth Golf Classic   1991 U.S. Junior Amateur, Boys 15–17 Junior World Golf Championships, Orange Bowl International Junior Look at some other AJGA Players of the Year. How many of these names do you recognize? A few, for sure. I assure y'all, I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios. I just don't get what the point is. Okay. I get that, then. Thanks.
    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
    • Just stumbled onto the article.  Totally random and thought it might be interested to hear other thoughts. maybe I am tired of all the LIV crap and  this just caught my attention.
    • Day 1: Spent some time hitting some balls. Working on my hips and a “soft” and straight trail arm.
