this guy's video seems to indicate that hitting up on the ball while driving is a good way to maximize distance.   I guess that's what the trackman numbers everywhere seem to show.

But is this guy's technique and advice good to follow?  seems a little extreme, so wanted feedback from the experts.  :)

It takes a bit more physical ability to get yourself into the kind of position he is using in his last example but the results are definitely there if you can pull it off. The tough part is fighting the tendency to flip your hands at the ball when it is so far in front of the head.

I would agree with the guy with some of the stuff. Hitting up helps with a lot of things.

First it helps optimize launch conditions. Lower spin and higher launch angle. Most people see a big increase in distance when they hit up on the ball.

I do not agree with shifting the weight to the back foot as much as he does. I like a more centered pivot. At address get that secondary axis tilt, keep the head centered, move the ball forward in the stance, and maintain a good steady head with a center pivot and let the swing and ball position do the work.

You don't need to keep your weight back to generate a positive enough angle of attack to maximize some distance.

Also note, the guy's clubhead speed goes from like 103 to 116, too. That alone is about 32 yards right there.
