Could someone please explain the launch monitor numbers?

I was goofing around at the golf store the other day, hitting my 7 iron off the mat with the launch monitor.

I made a note of the average numbers, and just curious what they mean...

Ball speed  102.5

V Angle  17.2

H Angle  3.0

Side spin  -840

Back spin  3702

Carry  139.3

Roll  10.9

Distance  158.2

Club Head speed  69.7

A few seem self explanatory, but I'm curious about the spin and angle stats

Thanks!

Look at the averages for Pros, it seems you are launching a bit low.  You may have been hitting a bit heavy because the spin is way down too.

Ok, thanks.  So, it looks like 'h angle' is the attack angle, or angle the club is coming in?  And 'v angle' is the launch, or angle the ball is leaving the ground?

H angle is the angle from center the ball is traveling, 3 degrees to the right.  V angle is vertical launch angle with respect to the ground.  Side spin is only mathematical.  The ball is really spinning off axis to the left.

Smash Factor: 1.47  = Good, actually that might be too good for a 7 iron. Usually you see high 30's. I might say that launch monitor is not picking up the clubhead speed right. Usually they are pretty good at ball speed. That doesn't matter much.

Vertical launch is decent. I find that hitting off  mat tends to increase the launch angle.

Yea, that -840 is a big number. That looks like a hook. If I do quick math the spin axis tilt would be somewhere near 12-13 degrees. I am guessing with the ball actually starting right of the ball your swing path is too far from the inside.
