I personally hate using a glove for two reasons. I think it makes me grip the club too tightly and my hand sweats like a mother! I'd like your opinions!

I wear a glove. I take it off between shots and I don't wear it while putting to avoid the excess sweats. I have four gloves in my bag, so if I'm at the range and am grooving a swing fix, I can switch gloves. Grip tightness hasn't been too much of an issue for me; if anything, I've sometimes found my right hand not even connected to the club after a swing.

There are good players who don't wear a glove at all. There's some pro - I forget who - who wears two, although that's far less common than no gloves.

The guy that wears two gloves is a player who won the Big Break, can't remember his name, but that is who wears the two gloves.

Name is "Tommy Two Gloves" (or something along those lines

) Anyway, am a manic sweater so put one on whenever I have a shot (except when putting and chipping).

I wear a glove for all long shots.

The idea of wearing a glove is to stop your left hand from gripping the club to tightly. It has nothing to do with extra grip!!
Golf is a game whose aim is to hit a very small ball into an even smaller hole, with weapons singularly ill-designed for the purpose.

No gloves in my bag, just a towel with a damp edge to wipe my grips. I've been doing it for over 10 years.

I use a glove, but I take it off in between shots to minimize sweating. The only reason that I bought a glove was because the grip was rubbing blisters on the palm of my hand. I have only been playing golf a little over a year, and I have already worn a hole in two gloves. On my third now.

I wear a glove partially for the blisters reason and also because i feel as though i have so much more control and power over the golf club with it on. I have noticed that most people take their glove off during putting, however i keep it on for the same reason.

I know where you are coming from UGA, i have had much the same problem. I think my next step will be to buy a full cabretta leather one. Apparently they are really long-lasting.

I use a glove. Reason beinhg so that I don't have to grip the club as tightly, gives me more control, and enables more speed. Tight muscles are not fast muscles.

I wear a glove for every club except the putter.
And as I play 2-3x a week, and hit the driving range 2x a week I usually get a new glove every month.

I wear a glove. Improves grip. Prevents blisters. I also wear tape on my non-glove hand at points where I've noticed blisters start to develop. The tape has a two-fold purpose. It also prevents blisters, but it also serves as a mental reminder not to grip the club very tight. It has helped the last few sessions at the range.

I wear a glove, except for putting. If it's warm at all, I take it off between shots as much as possible, and also cycle among at least two different gloves. I use standard Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips, which just aren't friendly to the lead hand, IMO.

Oh, and it's Tommy Gainey.

Nothing in the swing is done at the expense of balance.

Yesterday while playing my glove fell out of my jacket and I actually panicked because I had never played golf without a glove. I actually played well and enjoyed the feeling of not having the glove, although, I feel that in the middle of a hot summer day I might need a glove.

I haven't worn a glove since I was 18, now 31. I tried to wear one earlier this spring for a few rounds but when I hit shots without it the feel was a lot better... So... No glove for me.

Most of the time i wear a glove and take it off to putt. But I sweat a lot so I sometimes take it off in between fairway or tee shots.
