I've been hitting for the last few weeks with a couple of borrowed 7 irons, so I'd like to order set of my own.

I've been hitting balls 3-4 days a week lately, but I haven't played in 8 years or so. So, no handicap or idea what my strengths or weaknesses are. I do have my first golf lesson tomorrow.

I'm 6'5" 260 and I think I have a pretty slow/smooth tempo. The ball generally goes right to left with my irons.

I hit about 20 balls off the launch monitor at Golf Galaxy this afternoon and noted the averages (this includes my best and worst shots).

The club was a Callaway X22 clone 7 iron with a True Temper Feather Light shaft (110g) in stiff flex.  It's +.75" in length, 1 deg upright, SW is D6.

My numbers were;

Club Head Speed - 77.1

Ball Speed - 104.9

Efficiency - 1.36

Launch Angle - 19.4

Azimuth - 0.6

Side Spin - 84L

Back Spin - 2344

Peak Height - 22

Descent Angle - 36

Carry Distance - 159

Total Distance - 182

Any suggestions for irons and shafts are greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

the best bet would probably be going back to Golf Galaxy and getting yourself fitted. i personally dont know much about shafts, i used the default ones that came in most of my clubs with the exception of used clubs that have custom shafts. many people on these forums have a lot of knowledge on the subject but it will be hard to come to a decision based on numbers

My clubs-

Driver- Cleveland XL270

3 wood- Cleveland XL270 HL 3 wood

hybrid and irons-Cleveland Mashie 3 hybrid

                        Adams a4r 4 hybrid-gw

wedges- a4r pw, gw, snakeyes

             Callaway x-series jaws 56 Degree, 60 Degree
