Will be going to Gulf Shores, AL June 27- July 4. Looking for a top course to challenge my game and also have beautiful scenic features..

Well from looking at google earth it seems all of the golf courses are penned in by housing developments. Not that I would expect to find anything nice in Alabamy.

My folks used to be down there...before I started playing. But scenery-wise I would have been interested in the setting of Kiva Dunes out in a links-like location between Mobile Bay and the Gulf. For yellow pines and Spanish moss on Live Oaks, check into Lakewood Golf Club up near Fairhope.

No idea if either course I mentioned is open to the public. I just like the settings. There's also a course on Dauphin Island, but I don't think it's in as good shape as the other two.

Kiva looked to be open to the public from their website. 109 bucks for a round though.
