What are y'alls thoughts on nike putters? I am in store for a new putter and thinking about a scotty cameron or a nike method like Rory's. I would love to order the Nike method 006 but just want reviews from other people.

The Nike Method 006 is just another putter in the pile of thousands of Anser clones. Looking at your signature I would think you would be better off with a new wedge. Nothing like fresh grooves.

Yep I won an award for my golf team this year so my mom promised me a present kinda thing since my parents have been harsh on me the last few years so I convinced her to let me get a fitted putter but once I get my first two pay checks this summer I am getting fitted for wedges :D so excited but first wanna get a putter since mine feels so awful off the face right now.

Also ya the ping ansers are nice I didn't even think about those.

All I can tell you about putters is after failing & buying the first putter I liked, it didn't work out (repeated this trend several times to date).   Next time I'm in the market for a putter, I'll go to my local golf store, hit everything & form a general opinion of what I like. Don't buy it then .  I'll go back a week later & repeat ... you may come to the same conclusion or you may not.     When you have 2 good test days in a row without a shadow of a doubt which one is your favorite, then and only then I'll pull the trigger ...

I'll second this advice. Your feel for things can really change from day to day. You want something you know you can use for a long time.

A putter isn't something I buy based on name brand or who on the Tour is playing it.  More so than any other club in the bag, the putter is a very personal thing.  Last time I went to buy one, I went in with a completely clean slate and no preconceived ideas of what I was looking for (except no Nike because I don't buy or use anything Nike - personal reasons, long story).  I spent a couple hours on the practice green in the store hitting different putters and gradually narrowing them down until I found the one I liked best.

If I were going to buy a putter right now, I'd go get fitted for an Edel (and that's exactly what I will do when it comes time to buy my next putter).  It doesn't appear to cost much more than a Cameron, but seems like way more bang for the buck.  Lots of effort into custom fitting vs. "Look what brand putter I have in my bag".

I recently went through needing a new putter. I went to Golfsmith every day for a week and a half, hitting balls with every putter they had that fit my putting style (arc). I ended up getting the new Nike Method Matter, but only because I hit it better than any other and felt confident with it in my hands above any other. I had originally planned on an Odyssey, but spending time with the others I settled on what worked for me.

You can find some that aren't rory stamped or whatever for a lot cheaper but I know what you mean. My coach got one for 1,500 off ebay and its super nice. I found a customized blue scotty that I like that I might order but those nike putters just look so nice. If only I had 1k to drop on one of those rory putters.

Like everyone else is saying. Go to a golf store with an open mind and spend some time putting around. I finally did this after a couple impulse buys and have finally found a putter for me. I always thought I needed a face balanced one and was looking for a mallet. Ended up walking away with a Scotty Cameron notchback. A blade for a slight arc. Haven't been happier

I agree with the posts above, a month ago when i bought a new putter I also went to the store with the idea that I wanted the Nike Method and with a small head. Ended up with the Odyssey Versa 7 with a head that looks like the size of a spacecraft to me. But it felt really nice. Just go to the store, try everything out and go with the putter that 'feels' good, not the one that Rory has.

Huh? I don't get this?

What club are you using the most in a round? Wedge, driver, 3 wood or the putter?

as a hdc 4 your average score would be 76 in a par72. If you count 2 putts on a hole that makes 36 putts

so almost half of your shots go with the putter, and you suggest that he should be playing with a putter he's not confident with?

I think he's smart to go for a putter first. Not totally agree with what he's looking for. Looks like he's a fan off Rory and would like a same

putter. I think this is not the way to search for a new putter. I'm about to change my putter, but as mentioned above i don't go after just one try.

I think my new putter will be the Odyssey nr. 7. For me it's perfect and easier to keep the putterhead straight.

I was referring to separation value. Improving the wedge game will save more strokes than improved putting. Putting takes the least amount of skill and you really don't have 36 opportunities to gain strokes because most putts are a simple tap in or a lag.

Yeah but putting is all about confidence, if you have a putter in hand you don't feel confident with, pretty sure your not making a lot off them

      I've played Bali Hai, Bear's Best and Painted Desert. I enjoyed Bali Hai the most--course was in great shape, friendly staff and got paired in a great group. Bear's Best greens were very fast, didn't hold the ball well (I normally have enough spin to stop the ball after 1-2 hops).  The sand was different on many holes. Some were even dark sand (recreation of holes from Hawaii). Unfortunately I was single and paired with a local "member" who only played the front 9.  We were stuck behind a slow 4-some who wouldn't let me through even when the local left. Painted Desert was decent, just a bit far from the Strip where we were staying.

      Honestly, unless there's something about that rough there that makes it abnormally penal or a lost ball likely, this might be the play. I don't know how the mystrategy cone works, but per LSW, you don't use every shot for your shot zones. In that scatter plot, you have no balls in the bunker, and 1 in the penalty area. The median outcome seems to be a 50 yard pitch. Even if you aren't great from 50 yards, you're better off there than in a fairway bunker or the penalty area on the right of the fairway. It could also be a strategy you keep in your back pocket if you need to make up ground. Maybe this is a higher average score with driver, but better chance at a birdie. Maybe you are hitting your driver well and feel comfortable with letting one rip.  I get not wanting to wait and not wanting to endanger people on the tee, but in a tournament, I think I value playing for score more than waiting. I don't value that over hurting people, but you can always yell fore 😆 Only thing I would say is I'm not sure whether that cone is the best representation of the strategy (see my comment above about LSW's shot zones). To me, it looks like a 4 iron where you're aiming closer to the bunker might be the play. You have a lot of shots out to the right and only a few to the left. Obviously, I don't know where you are aiming (and this is a limitation of MyStrategy), but it seems like most of your 4 iron shots are right. You have 2 in the bunker but aiming a bit closer to the bunker won't bring more of your shots into the bunker. It does bring a few away from the penalty area on the right.  This could also depend on how severe the penalties are for missing the green. Do you need to be closer to avoid issues around the green?  It's not a bad strategy to hit 6 iron off the tee, be in the fairway, and have 150ish in. I'm probably overthinking this.
