Hey Guys,

I'm really looking to get more in to golf and I think the next step is to buy a set of clubs. My experience right now is limited to the driving range which I'm fairly comfortable with. I tried out Top Flight XL set but it seemed the irons were a little short for me, I'm about 6'1. I'm looking to gt something for a good value and something I can grow off of. The set I have caught my attention has been the Zevo Z450 from golfsmith but I don't know much about it. Any offered advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Don't buy boxed sets. They're hard to fit into, they tend to be lousy, and you'll probably want to upgrade from them fairly soon once you get better and you'll find next to no resale value. You're better off buying some better used clubs. My brother bought a Tommy Armour set and he's piecing together a Nike set because the woods and hybrid are awful and the irons are meh.

I will second buying from the used club marketplace.  There are some great sets and individual clubs available, and if you are concerned about club length I would sample a few models and when you find one that seems to fit look up its specs and and shop with those numbers in mind.  Also, I suggest taking the same route with the driver, fairway woods, and hybrids.  With the money you save you can spend it on lessons which will spare you a lot of frustration on the course.  Good luck!
