Maybe not. Look for yourself in RoG, Appendix II, where it says, in part:

(iii) Putters (see Fig. IX)

When the clubhead is in its normal address position, the dimensions of the head must be such that:

  • the distance from the heel to the toe is greater than the distance from the face to the back;

No. Appendix II to the rules of golf pertains. http://www.usga.org/rules/rules-and-decisions.html#!appendix-ii In short, for a putter, the distance between the heel and the toe must be greater than that from the face to the back of the clubhead. Edited to add that @Asheville beat me to it.....

You may be able to add two wings on the back to increase the heel-to-toe dimensions. Drill a small hole in the cylinder near the back and stick in a chopstick.  But must remain in place from tee box 1 to end of round.  Cannot modify club during round.

Would be weird.

I don't believe the lie angle on that putter is legal either.

I think you are right.  Because of the cylindrical head, there is nothing to limit the lie angle, so it would not be conforming.

If I put a wing on the back to set a lie angle and make it  longer from toe to heal than it is from front to back then it should be legal.

Still could have a lie angle problem.

    • Day 2: did my Evolver drill in the mirror.  No club, just did the motion. And this time I am confident I am doing it correctly.
    • Nothing is assured and lots of talented young athletes in many sports fail to achieve greatness. as was said, injuries, growth, lots of things can come into play, And let’s let honest, over the years a few players have been branded “The Next Tiger Woods” and yet there is only 1 Tiger Woods. My initial point was if he can do a great breakout it may capture the attention of a new generation.  Back in the 70s it was Secretariat in horse racing, we also had Jordan in basketball and let’s not forget Tiger for golf.  Stories get people interested and I think golf needs a new story. I will pull for him and hope it works out but there are so many factors that come into play you just do not know, But I can hope.
    • Day 114: 4/19/24 Chipping and putting practice. Tried a little hinge and hold with good results, which has never been the case during a real round. Playing tomorrow and eager to play.
