So i was not sure how to title this thread...

But i have a 3 wood from a box set i got at a McSports back in 2008 ( Dunlap Attack is the name of the set ) ..  no lie i think the whole set cost me 130$   lol...   needless to say i didnt use the set very long since my brother a year or two later, bought a new set of AP2's , so i got his old Wilson Deep Red's,

But i kept that old set around, mainly for the driver's, while i use the Deep Red irons.....

with the driver, i was so hit or miss lol....... but with the 3 wood, OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!     no lie, i could easily hit the ball on average 250 yards...

So i decided to give this 3 wood a whirl again, while at the driving range...  and no lie, it still puts the ball out there....  the crazy thing is the shaft has so much flex it's funny......

which made me decide to pull the driver from my bag and just stick with my 3 wood.....

but it's just funny how such a " cheap " 3 wood can perform so well.....

and no lie, when this club breaks or die's i will be pissed lol.........

It is what it is

So I would give anything to go back in time and retrieve all of the clubs like you describe that I had. Why? I believe with todays club fitting technology I could identify the things like the club's MOI, swing weight measurement, shaft cpm flex, etc, etc.  Then I possibly could build me a set using cost effective components and/or custom order a "like" club based on the specs of those oldies.... I am glad you have kept yours. Regarding that 3 wood, it probably has the right combination of length, lie angle, loft, etc which compliments your swing. Plus I am sure it "feels" right and I am a firm believer if a club feels good, then a golfer has a good chance of swinging within their abilities consistently.

i totally understand what you mean... i had that with a set i bought off one of my old boss's...  this was in like 2000, i had bought a cheap set in the spring time when a bunch of us at work decided to get into golf...  well the boss started with a cheapy set, i think the name on them was " dynamo "  lol.... well the boss went out and bought himself a new set of taylormade's i think.. and since i had snapped several of my clubs at the hosel, he sold me his old set for 50$

And wow i could just kill it with several of the clubs.. the 5 iron i could hit around 190 yards lol... and the PW was money on anything from 125 and closer.... all the other clubs was iffy lol... i hated myself one day for losing that PW.... i went a bought a new/used one and it just wasnt the same.....

I will say about my cheap 3 wood, is the shaft has so much flex it's funny, you can actually feel it on the follow thru....

It is what it is
