US Mid Amateur and 4-ball qualifying - Course Suggestions

Every year I play the US Midam qualifier somewhere within driving distance of the San Francisco bay area, but this year I wanted to branch out to see if I could combine vacation time with tournament golf.  I don't mind making a road trip if it means I can play a course that has a good reputation and brings me somewhere I've never been before.  Mix in some good food and I'll go about anywhere.

Wanted to start this thread to create discussion for others that play in the national qualifiers and have suggestions for the courses in their local area.  Currently I'm looking at the US 4-ball qualifier in Ohio at the Mayfield Sand Ridge Club on 8/18.  My Giants play on the road in Pittsburgh later that week, so if I can convince my partner to fly out with me I might have to look for some other local gems in the area.

Anyone else do the same?

Driver: Taylormade Burner TP (2007 model)
Fairway Wood: Callaway Steelhead III 4+
Hybrid: Sonartec MD 19
Irons: Mizuno MP 33s  4-PW
Wedges: Titleist Vokey Spin Milled wedges: 60, 56, 52Putter: Odyssey DFX 9900

I'm not eligible, of course, but it sounds like a pretty nifty plan. Do you want to be distracted, though, with "vacation" thoughts while you're prepping to play in a qualifier?
