So I have been using the Golfpadgps mobile app for the past few months and it is by far the best scorecard/rangefinder/gps app that I have used. Maybe two months ago I was able to get my hands on their new Golf Tags, similar to Game Golf and Arccos shot tracking systems and so far I have really enjoyed using them. Ill be honest, the biggest reason I went with the Golf Tags was that they were only $100 versus over $200 for the other two. Being just graduated from college, money sways a lot of decisions haha Anyways the point of this post is that I saw Golf Pad's twitter that they launched a kickstarter campaign for the new version of golf tags, and they are even cheaper on there!

here's a link for anyone interested: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/golfpad/golf-tags-easily-track-and-improve-your-golf-game?ref=nav_search

Very interesting idea. Using NFC and a phone vs a stand alone module (like Game Golf) for a substantially lower price. Very tempted to back this.

The major factor pushing me away from game golf is my vanity, too scared to look like a dork walking around with the unit on my belt. This is a lot more inconspicuous.

Agree, I'd have preferred the belt unit to be black.  I'm surprised Game Golf doesn't have patents to better protect their business.

I have recently found out that with the free Game Golf app and the tags only for 49.99 (plus s/h and taxes) you can use the nfc technology with an android already.

Oh dam, didn't know that. Already backed the kickstarter to will see what happens. Only just over 10% towards their goal so they may not make it.
