I'm looking at taking a vacation out in this area to visit a friend and do some golfing. Anyone live around this area that could give me an idea of good places to stay/golf? I'm looking at 2nd or 3rd week of July currently.

I used to do some work in Randolph, but I'm not too familiar with the courses out there. It's only about 45 minutes to an hour NW of me, so if you felt like heading down towards me or find a place to play up there, I'd be glad to meet you for a round if you'd like.

I'll definitely do that. I'm ironing out the details with the friend I'm going to see out there, hopefully it doesn't fall through because I'd like to try getting out to different states to play golf. If it has the side benefit of being able to do some golfing with people from here all the better!

Cool, man. Keep me posted.

I grew up 10 minutes from Randolph and lived there until last year.

If you're looking for a nice course that's not going to break the bank... check out Berkshire Valley Golf Club.  It's a county owned course, but it's one of my favorites.

If you're looking for a more upscale course and you're not opposed to a 45 minute (give or take) drive... check out the Crystal Springs Resort courses in Sussex County.

Ballyowen... Wild Turkey... Crystal Springs... Black Bear... Cascades.

They're all amazing and WELL worth the drive and the prices.

Outside of that... there is the other county course out there, Flanders Valley.  That was my home course for almost 20 years.  It has 36 holes (only 18 operate on Tuesday's)... fair rates... and for a county course, it's very well maintained and run.

Have fun!

Thanks a lot for giving me a good list of courses. I'm going to be out there for about a week and that will give me a good set of options!
