I read in the US Open guide sent to members that the transitions from fairways to greens may be indistinct in some places at Chambers Bay. This should be interesting.  All the grass is fescue and it may slow things down with players asking for rulings are the greens.

While the apron may be hard to tell from fairway, I would be surprised if the putting surface is cut the same as the fringe.

Well, they're getting great weather right now for the fescue to grow. It's forecast for the 80s for next weekend. One thing I know about that area is that if there is no wind it can get damned hot with the sun beating down and reflecting off the water in the afternoon. There is no escape from it.

They'll chop the greens down for the tournament.

[QUOTE name="boogielicious" url="/t/82460/chambers-bay-green-edges-indistinct#post_1151659"]   I read in the US Open guide sent to members that the transitions from fairways to greens may be indistinct in some places at Chambers Bay. the article indicated that even different cutting height may not make it obvious.
