Usually when I think Skyway, I think of the drive to EWR. Will be sure to keep an eye out for the course next time I go to the airport, maybe I'll even play a round next time I bring someone to EWR. Good distribution of different yardages for the 9 holes.

Quote:

Hudson County residents will no longer have to travel long distances to play a round of golf.

Starting Monday, they can do so practically in their own backyard.

The new destination for local golfers, Skyway Golf Course, is set to open to the public on Monday. The course, located in Lincoln Park West, will offer nine country club quality holes at affordable rates.

@billchao and folks nearby. I played this. I can post an album if demand is there. It's a great layout and the green fee might be a tad steep for a 9, but twilight rate is reasonable and the putting green they let you chip.

$33 for non-residents for 9 holes on weekdays? No thanks. I actually played with a guy from Hoboken yesterday and we talked a little bit about how they don't have many choices living in Hudson county. Still better off getting an out-of-county card for Union and paying $31 for 18 on weekends.

I was thinking $23 non-rez for twilight on the weekend which is what I did. I got there a couple of hours ahead of twilight, paid the twilight rate and got on earlier than twilight.

That's a little better. I pay $25 to play 9 at Hyatt Hills on weekdays, but that's the standard rate for non-residents, not twilight hours or anything. I don't really like paying $25 to be perfectly honest with you. Galloping Hill's Learning Center Nine is $14 with card. It's short and easy, but has lots of elevation changes so it's interesting.

I'm confused, you have to pay more to golf if you don't live in the area that the course you are playing is in?

LOL.. Yeah, just like you have to pay more tuition if you are from out of state.. Don't want those outsiders taking advantage do we? Oh, wait? We do want people who don't live around driving a long way right? Now, I am all confused as well!!!

Many state park and city run courses offer discounts to players who live in that district. Many resort courses offer discounts to locals.

I believe it's also tax related. Residents already pay county taxes, some of which goes towards maintenance of the golf courses, so they give residents discounted greens fees.

That makes some sense, with government funded golf courses. We don't have anything like that around here so that's why it sounds so weird. One week until vacation starts, good to know that I'll be paying more for golf than residents while I'm out that way, haha.

    • Most the stuff I found on Instagram and just copy and mix it up. a few of my favorites: Clean>Squat>Press> March Around the body >catch >Squat> press I also hold a the kettle bell upside down with both hands on the handle. Squat when I stand back up I lift the kettlebell up over and behind my head and hold then repeat
    • Not sure this is the best thread but, if the rain holds off, today is my 1st round of the year.  Getting ready I can not find my Shot Scope.  I guess I put it away too well for the winter and thus that is may "Winter Depression".  I'm sure I put it somewhere that made sense at the time.
