Greater U.S. Open Victory - Tiger Leg vs. Day Vertigo?

I think Hogan and his 1950 US Open deserves to have a spot in this poll/discussion.

If we were talking about best US Opens with an injury, sure. But we're only talking about these two instances.

Tiger

Jason Day. I have played competitive hockey with bad shoulder injuries and competitive hockey with dizziness and nausea, and I can tell you that it is much worse playing with dizziness and nausea. I would assume it's the same case with golf. Adrenaline helped ease the pain for Tiger, but it won't help Day feel any better. In fact, it may make him feel worse.

I believe that the precautions they are taking with Jason are just that ... precautions. If he was experiencing vertigo during the round, you would see it. He may rub his eyes, he may feel a bit woozy for a few moments, but if it was full- on vertigo, he would collapse as he did during the second round.

As an older guy as compared to most here, I've had bouts where I was dizzy and collapsed to the ground, having no bearings. It is definitely weird and a tad frightening. It disappeared after a few minutes. I get a little woozy when at times when I bend down to tee a ball sometimes or when I stand up after washing the wheels of my car (some kind of sudden action of bending and standing), but after a few seconds of standing, it disappears.

If Jason had vertigo during a round, it would be difficult for him to swing the club. It is serious, but at the same time...

I think a lot of this is more fodder for those like Kelly Tighlman, who must over-dramatize every scene and act.

I believe so, I seem to recall Bubba making his caddy tee the ball for him because it was raining and he didn't want to get wet.

I'm pretty sure the rules guy on Fox said that the caddie can tee the ball and take it out of the hole for him.

I was watching the USOpen at a get-together last night, and one of the golfers there said that the player must direct the caddie to tee the ball or to get it out of the hole. The caddie cannot do it without the player's direction.

Jason Day. It must be total hell to deal with and play golf at that extreme venue. Much tougher than what Tiger had to deal with.

The press is making this into a "Sunday Miracle" if Day wins.

I am turning off the TV, and going to hit balls. Enough.
