I played them. Of course you know how it goes...good day..ball was fine, bad day.... But seriously I thought the ball was fine but I do get a bit more distance with ProV1x which I normally use. Not sure why, but on shots less than 150yds the chrome seemed to stop a little better than the ProV1x...but longer I faired better with the ProV1x. I don't believe in putting differences so no input there.

I played one yesterday.  Crazy spin with short irons, wedges and around the green.  This could have been aided by rain, but definitely 'pulled the string' on a few shots yesterday playing a Chrome Soft golf ball.

I picked up a dozen of the Chrome Soft last week and have played 1 round with them. I like them and will stick with them for the season. I have previously played the Hex Chrome + and tried out the Callaway Supersoft this spring. I am really liking the Chrome Soft.

Great golf balls, probably my favorite.  I hope more people start to use them so I can buy them pre-owned in bulk.

I have tried a sleeve, and the jury is still out. I tried them mainly because I play a lot of vintage golf (wood woods, steel shafts, forged irons), and thought they might be good for that. I can't say I liked them any better for vintage than the Supersoft, but I may try another sleeve or two.  I am not the best tester, but they felt "heavy" to me coming off the club as compared to the Supersoft and my reference ball, the Titleist DT SoLo.

I also hit a few times with modern gear, and did like them better off modern gear than with vintage. I also tried the Hex Chrome recently off modern gear. I can't feel a lot of difference, but again, my experience is limited. I plan to try some more with both types of gear.

I don't dislike the ball off either type of club, but I am not yet giddy about it either.

I bought a dozen of the yellow Chrome Soft.  I had reward money to use up and they did not have the Top Flite Gamer Tour or Maxfli U4's on the shelf.  I was debating on getting the B330RX's or the Chrome Soft.  I played today with them and I don't see what all the fuss is about.  It was only one round but I don't think they will be in the bag the next time out.  I could not putt with them to save my life.  I have never blown the ball by the hole as much as I did with these things.  I never did get a good feel with them.  After 3 putting on the 18th, I chucked it into the nearby creek.

Ditto, I played the Callaway SuperSofts last fall when the weather started getting cold and liked those so I tried the Chrome Softs early this season.  They were fine for the most part but I couldn't stand them on the green either, just could not get a feel for them off the putter at all.  Probably just in my head, but my putting seems to have improved since I've gone back to my normal ball.

I am hitting the ball longer than I did with the prov1x. I see where they started out at $36 doz. and now most places are charging a little more. I'm a single digit hdcp that does not hit the ball long. These balls go straight and have good control. They chip and putt nicely and stop on greens

I'm interested in trying them next time out. I purchased a dozen in a raffle for disabled veterans, we'll see. I usually don't pay $40 a dozen given I'm cheap, but the raffle was for a good cause, (given I am a disabled vet too). I'll let you know my thoughts once I play them.

I played them along with my normal Super Soft ... honestly I could not tell the difference ... but then isuk@golf ... With that said I would recommend them if you like the soft feel.

So I spent over $40 on these balls and I was so disappointed. I usually play the NXT Tour Titleists. I hit a beautiful 4 iron to a 210 yard par 3 that came up over 25 yards short. I connected on the sweet spot on my driver and hit a nice draw that ended up about 245 yards into the middle of the fairway which is at least 30 yards less than my average good drive. I don't think it is that I'm not used to the softer golf balls as I don't experience this with ProV1s or the NXT Tour balls. Do you guys really sacrifice that much distance just for better feel around the green? Or does this ball not fit my swing or something?

Yeah there wasn't anything weird like that at all. As soon as I switched to my normal balls on the 6th hole everything went back to normal distances.

    • We do not buy extended warranties. We will use one of our credit cards for the purchase that extends the warranty "x 2". Our thoughts are: a. if the item is a lemon, it will likely break right away and we can attempt to apply the original warranty or credit card extension. b. over the long haul, we will probably save more money by not purchasing the extended warranty and fixing/junking broken items out of our own pocket. The important thing is to keep some records of purchases so one may make a claim under the manufacturer's warranty. I recently sent back some Footjoy shoes for leaking and Footjoy did a reat job of making the claim process work very well. I had the original receipt, warrant info and box. Easy peasy.

    • This is pretty much how I look at it.  I understand there are times when the piece of mind has value. I think over the long haul I'm money ahead by never buying the extended warrantee. Hell, What do I know? I went to Ch!cago PubIic SchooIs.
