Is Winn Excel the Best Grip or What?

This grip is awesome. It's soft, sticky, and feels like I can hold onto the shaft without even closing my fingers. I've been slowing getting the standard size on all my clubs. Does anyone get a grip that's not this one?

I too was surprised by all the hard and ugly grips on the market. I figured they were just there for display to make the store seem more legit, not for people to actually put on their golf clubs.

So if you don't like Winn, what is you go-to grip?

Winns are comfortable -- but not extremely durable from my experience, although they should last a season if you care for them. Follow their cleaning directions. You can't soak them with water.

For those with higher swing speeds, who would prefer a firmer, less torquey grip, then something in firm from Winn or another maker is usually preferable (Golf Pride, Lamkin, Pure, etc)

I have the Winn Jumbo Pistol Lite on my putters, but play Golf Pride multi compound on the rest.

I used to regrip my clubs and used a half cord, but finally gave it up.

I had mine redone once with Winn wraps, and they didn't last as long as I would have liked.

Good to know. My grips are holding up fine, and I have never cleaned any of my handles ever... but then again I only got my first excel grip about 8-9 months ago.

Clean your grips - your sweat, dust, and dirt interfere with the tackiness and endurance.

I hate Winn grips. I always felt like I had to death grip them to hold on.

I did use this grip for years on my putter.

Really? The stickiness of it allows me to hold it lighter than any other grip.
