Ping enthusiasts! Best Iron Ping ever made? - Page 3

Sitting here today I'd have to say the ping i3's. I'm drooling over the S55's right now though. Id like to hit them. I'm probably not good enough to have them but they are beautiful. A hacker can dream can't he a2_wink.gif

i20, duh.  What is there not to like?  Precision for the expert golfers and mucho forgiveness for all, with nice looks to boot.

Let me put it this way, if the i20 irons came out in 1985, the eye2 would be completely forgotten by now and the G series wouldn't have even been necessary.  Wish I could find a set in my price range but I fear that I'm in for a long wait.

Well duh, the i20 is made with 20 years of technological advancement over the eye2.

I shoot with a guy who just had his 3rd set of grips put on his Eye-2's, When I play him next time I'm gonna shoot my i3's OS...maybe i'll win for once...

I played Ping Eye2 clones from 1994 to 2008. These were Pro Tour Black heads (2* flat), fitted with Dynalite S300 shafts. Felt identical to actual Eye2 irons I tried on occasion. Fat forward: At a golf scramble this spring, the guy next to me on the practice range was hitting original Eye2 irons, and stroked one solid shot after another.

I've been to winter golf expos the last couple of years, and in recent times it appears the G15 and G20 irons are comparable in popularity. Fitters like these latter G-series irons because they offer a variety of shafts, and thus can service a wide range of golfers.
