This guy in my club has set up a website and is now selling lessons and teaching people how to play golf. He is not a pro and in my opinion has a very undesirable swing. His website really gives you no reason to use him. It actually makes him seem a little bitter.

I have known this guy for a while and he told me the day I was playing with him, that he was "teaching" now. I didn't know and would have never assumed he was teaching golf. I had a really off day that day and at the end of the round he gives me his card and says "if you ever need another set of eyes to look at your swing...." I was shocked that he taught golf first and second, I couldn't say what I wanted to say...

Does anyone else have this guy at their club? I wanted to post the swing but it is embedded and not hosted anywhere. Here is a snapshot.

I'm not at all proud of my swing, but I wouldn't trade it for his based on that pic! I know teaching and playing don't always correlate directly, but I'm curious, how does he play? What's his handicap?

Well he is not long off the tee and has two caps listed at the club, one says 2.9 and another is 3.9. He plays off the blacks.

The swing is worse in person. Loopy looking thing.

I have been planning to ask him a bunch a questions to see what makes him qualified to "help me with golf" since he offered me his business card but I have not had my opportunity yet.

This reminds me of a story.  I had one of my wife's relatives staying with us briefly.   Among things he claimed, he considered becoming a pro after picking up golf while working for a company (he was a salesman and entertained customers by playing golf with them), has mid 80 handicap (I don't believe he has an official one), can't use driver b/c it is too inaccurate, ...   I took him to a range one day and found him to a total flake.   He couldn't hit anything straight but chucked it to a rust - hasn't hit a golf ball for a year, etc.    He moved out to live in SF and ended up teaching a beginner (his roommate) for $130 per lesson.   Nerve of that guy to parade as a golf instructor .... and charging his roommate a professional rate (higher than lesson I took from GolfTec).

Oh, yeah.  He's a righty, Lihu. :-)

I cannot blur the name but I have it uploaded to youtube. Anyone have a fast editing app or program to do it?

Okay, enough "lefty" jokes, or in this case a righty "joke(r)". . . :-D

You might be able top play tricks with Windows Movie maker by adding a caption right over his name with hash characters or something? Just stretch out the caption across the entire video.

Why the concern about his identity. He posted it, correct?

I guess I don't care too much except that I live in a very small town...
