Agreed completely.

I thought they looked great from pictures, but I struggled to find a demo to hit LH. I wasn't too worried about it seeing as I love(d) my current irons, Taylormade RAC Lt2's. I found a demo club to swing at a local retailer that's always been good about LH stuff, and it was incredible. Maybe it's because I've never played forged, the MP60 was too much and I the MX series just never appealed to me from a looks perspective, but WOW. I got fitted the next day and they are on the way!

Nice!!

I've been searching around online to see what kind of deals are out there. Thing is, I need/want to get fitted. I'm 6'3" and I think it would do me good to at least get fitted. I've always used standard clubs, but based on some preliminary measurements that a guy took for me at Golfer's Warehouse, looks like I'm right on the borderline of +1/2" to 1". Not sure about lie angle, I guess that's a little more involved.

Uh... errr... not quite:

First ever

It's their first "full cavity" in the MP line, in other words. Look up the MX line - plenty of cavities there.

We'll hopefully be receiving a review set soon as well. I look forward to what Alan has to say then, and what you have to say about your set, too. What shafts did you get in them? I'm still waiting on my PX shafts in my MP-67s.

I got them in Dynamic Gold S300. I hit them in DG and Rifles, love the DG and hated the Rifles. They aren't here yet though, guys at the shop said 10 days as of yesterday.

If anyone is looking for a deal, then checkout Discount Dan's:
http://www.discountdansgolf.com/

Email them or give them a call for a price quote. I got a very nice quote on a new set of MP-57's, but didn't get them since I found a great deal on a very nice used set of MP-60's.

every mizuno i ever hit including mx-19 and mx-25 felt like if you missed the center by a dimple you were hitting a rock. my brother in law(14hc) has the mp-60's which is gorgeous along with the new mp-57 but i dont get why you guys want to buy an iron that is so hard to hit? i mean i would love to say i use players irons but i dont see any real advantage. what are your guys thoughts on this?

Very good question that deserves a straight answer. Clubs like these have many benefits:

Ever have trouble playing from the rough? The smaller sole of a players club cuts through rough better and helps you strike the ball more cleanly. Do you need to control trajectory? Game improvement clubs are made to hit a high draw. Clubs like these can play dial-a-trajectory. How good a ball striker do you want to become? The feedback from a more demanding club will give you the information you need to learn to find the sweetspot much more consistently, if you are inclined to work at it. How about curvature? Do you need to hook, slice, draw or fade your irons on demand? Piece of cake with this type of club. Try this- take your Slingshot 5 or 6 iron - drop a ball 160 yards from the green, then try to hit a ball that goes no higher than 10-15 feet in the air and slices and gets to the green 160 yards away. Can't do it. There are many additional benefits....not the least of which is thinking you look kewl with some sweet looking forged beauties!

if you dont know what you are doing wrong then you prolly shouldn't be playing those clubs, that is the point i am trying to make. i can feel i pured shot and a mishit with my irons just not night and day like forged. and my mishits aren't nerely as painful as those of a forged nature. thanks for the explanation Leek.

While I would admit I don't find game improvement clubs any more forgiving than than clubs like these, because my impact dispersion is very tight, I find game improvement clubs offer me less control, more distance and higher scores.

I too can feel how solid impact is or isn't with shovels. I just don't like their lack of performance. I think once you reach a point that you can hit a lot of different shots you need more controlling irons.to take advantage.

yeah

i have a mizuno forged blade 6 iron i practice with on the range, after hitting the ball sweet one time i dont ever want to play my launcher lp cavities ever again. sad thing is that i have to cause i cant afford mp-57s yet. there is a lot of things players clubs are better at.

You don't need to spend that kind of money to get what you want. Look around, there are fantastic forged irons you can buy for a song. Here's a great example- I bought MacGregor Tourney PCBs 3-PW, which to me are a much better iron than most for just over $100.

I half agree with you, the majority of the Mizuno clubs (in the MP line) are not for me, I have no business even having them in my hand. But if you haven't had the chance yet, go and hit the 57's, I think it may change your mind.

I guess I'm confused, I hit at LEAST 70 balls with the demo while in the test-driving phase and I didn't once get the feeling it was a rock, and I know I missed a few. Maybe my misses are getting better? I mean iron play really hasn't ever been an issue for me Maybe this is a mental thing for you? Because the MX19 isn't even a forged golf club. I guess that's why so many companies can be successful making the same thing, everyone is looking for a different feel.

Here is my reason...

to be a better ball striker (plus I really like the look of a player irons). It goes like this...I just got back into the game last summer after about a 5 year lay off and I picked up a set of Ping I5's to start. I really wanted to learn to be a very good ball striker and I found that it was not real easy to feel bad swings with the Ping's. Yeah I know most of you would say that is a good thing but I would make what I thought was a bad golf swing and I was not getting the feedback from the clubs I desired. I seriously thought about blades but did not want my hands to bleed when I missed a shot just get good feedback. So all of my research brought me to the MP 60's . I love the look at address and they are more forgiving then blades but give me that feedback I wanted of when my swing was not in the slot (as they say). Hope this makes sense??? PS In reference to your comment about Mizuno irons feeling like hitting a rock when you are a dimple off...this is true BUT when you are on it is like going through "Hot" butter !!!
