Grips, grips, grips!!!!

Advice needed:

After playing this past weekend, I noticed that my perspiration problem is the last thing I need to worry about with my golf swing. Playing in 110 degree heat with 50% humidity didn't help.

What kind of grips would you recommend for someone who sweats a lot? I like to play without a glove, but I don't know if that's a good idea for me. I seem to like really tacky grips like Winn Dri-Tacs, but I've heard that super-soft grips are not good for people with fairly high swing speeds because they tend to make your grip pressure get extra tense, which in turn causes the rest of you to tense up. Any truth to that?

I've read some reviews here. A lot of people seem to like Pure Grips. Good for sweat hogs? Just looking for some thoughts.

jmo, but i'd recommend the Multi-compound grips from golf pride..... which is what i use and i love them......

and yes i did look into those Winn grips, but was a bit unsure cuz i dont like a grip that is squishy lol.....  but i also use a glove on both hands lol...

I've been playing Lamkin Crossline grips for 20+ years. They are great in all kinds of weather. Should work for someone with overactive sweat glands.

I have the same issues in 90+ temperatures and high humidity.

My arms sweat, and my hands get moist; the sweat from the arms bleeds onto the hands. At the end of a range session, it looks like I've taken a bath on the range.

I do not like to use gloves, but after about 15 minutes on the range, the gloves go on. If it gets really bad,  the rain gloves go on.

Looking for alternatives, I've purchased wrist sweat bands and they do help.

As to grips,  under the above conditions, the following did not work:

Pure Grips

Iomic Grips (almost lost a driver using these and it was a new grip)

Lamkin Wrap-Tech Grips (sweat and you are done here)

What Worked:

Of the newest grips, I am going with:

Lamkin UTx , which are designed for wet, hot humid conditions. They have the 3Gen material, with a bit of a cord. See www.lamkingrips.com

I would also purchase a box of Lamkin Gripes, although they do send you one gripe as a sample if you order from the webstore. During the summer months, I clean my grips often.

But I'd consider the wrist sweat bands, Lamkin UTx, and then if everything fails, DJ Rain Gloves.

I must be a really perspiring person because I used to have these, and they were tough to hold on to in the summer time! Great in the winter, though. Thanks for the rec !

You may need to bite the bullet and start wearing a glove in those conditions!!!    I noticed watching the SR US Open last week that even Lee Janzen now wears a glove these days!

(he won 2 US opens not wearing a glove)   Aside from Freddy Couples.....very few sans the glove!!

I sweat a lot and the best grips today are the dual compound grips..........

Most major brands manufacture the same thing.   Whether is Lamkin or who'ever....doesn't really matter because there are several like-quality grips available.   ...and YES...change them every year or more than once a year depending on how often you play.    I play 100+ rounds per year and replacing the grips once a year seems to work fine with me.

I lived and golfed in Mesa for ten years or so back in the late 80's early 90's. Had a heck of a time at first, my hands sweat a lot when its really hot out, monsoon season was especially tough.

My hands sweated faster than any grip had the ability to stay tacky. Not even close.

One thing that worked for me was to keep a wet towel and soak my hands continually.  PITA aspect is really high, though.

Best thing that worked for me was to spray my hands before I played with canned spray anti perspirant, preferably the powdery kind. Any cheap one will do, and use a lot of it. Amazing how well it works, it really keeps your hands from sweating. Try it

Any full-cord grip should work well. Won't slip, not even in the rain. But you may not like their "rough" feel.
